Former RNC Chair Brutally Blasts Trump Supporters Who Are Still Sending The President Donations

Former RNC Chair Brutally Blasts Trump Supporters Who Are Still Sending The President Donations
MSNBC

As Donald Trump continues failed lawsuit after failed lawsuit to try to overturn the results of the presidential election, many supporters are giving funds to their hero in record numbers.

There's one problem. Those funds aren't going to support the lawsuits.

The former chair of the RNC even weighed in, saying the people still giving money to support the lawsuits are "suckers."

On MSNBC, Michael Steele told Joy Reid his thoughts on the matter.

Joy Reid explained Trump's lawyers haven't been arguing actual allegations of fraud in many of their lawsuits while still fund-raising on a promise of stopping the "theft" of the election.

Steele told Joy Reid:

"The great little dirty part of this is Donald Trump right now is raising money at a faster rate to, sort of, steal the election than he did when he was trying to win the election."
"He's raising more money now than he did when he was actually running for the job that he's now trying to say that they stole from him!"
"So, look, the grift is on, baby! It is just on. You need to understand it."

Steele acknowledged people are allowed to spend their money how they want, but it might not be in their best interest.

"If anyone wants to be a sucker and send their dollar to Donald Trump for his recount effort, y'all just suckers."

As reported previously, the majority of the funds donated to Trump's election efforts are actually being split between the 'Save America' leadership PAC, a political action committee Trump is using to pay off debts, and the Republican National Committee.

According to Reuters, you would have to donate more than $8000 before any money would be earmarked for the lawsuit fund. This is all contained in the small print of the fund-raising emails the Trump team is sending out.

The fact even the former head of the RNC is pointing this out shows everyone should know about this.

Since the election, more news stations have felt comfortable calling out Donald Trump's actions. In addition to Joy Reid, Anderson Cooper also called Trump's fundraising scheme a con on the American people.

Other Trump allies, such as Arizona Governor Doug Ducey appear to be abandoning the President and his 2020 election shenanigans as well.
