Oops, Rudy Giuliani Just Had His Law License Suspended—And Twitter Is Roasting Him Hard

Oops, Rudy Giuliani Just Had His Law License Suspended—And Twitter Is Roasting Him Hard

Well, it may have taken a lot longer than any of us would have preferred, but the inevitable at last has come: Rudy Giuliani, the utterly bonkers attorney to former Republican President Donald Trump, has had his law license suspended by an appellate court in the state of New York.

Turns out the powers that be don't let you be a lawyer anymore when you're the sort of gent who, as the appellate court put it, "immediately threatens the public interest" by constantly spouting "false and misleading statements" while trying to help former Republican President Donald Trump undo an election!

And, of course, the internet is ROASTING him for it.

The suspension alone would be embarrassing enough for anyone. But for Giuliani, this debacle has layers.

For one, Giuliani of course used to be the much celebrated mayor of New York City, heralded as a hero for his handling of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Today, in the city he once led, a judge stripped him of his law license. Ouch.

But it gets so much worse! Before he was mayor, Giuliani was the top Justice Department official for the Southern District of New York and before that he was the District's lead prosecutor. This is a guy with a pedigree in the state and city of New York that at one time superseded the very court who just yanked his license!

This is the reward Giuliani receives for tirelessly going on television and telling bold-faced lies about Donald Trump actually winning the 2020 election over and over and over again. You hate (but also love?) to see it.

As the court stated in its filing:

"...[W]e conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that [Giuliani] communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump's failed effort at reelection in 2020."

Lying in court is, of course, an actual crime. Hope it was worth it, Rudy!

On Twitter, the collective cackling at Giuliani's expense was so loud it could be heard in distant galaxies.

In case you haven't had enough schadenfreude yet, today is also the day Giuliani was due in court as the defendant in a multi-billion-dollar defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems for his repeated claims that Dominion helped Democratic President Joe Biden cheat in the 2020 election.

Good luck with that, Rudy!

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
