Mom Dumbfounded After Daughter Reveals There's A Difference Between 'Left' And 'Right' Twix

TikToker @missskinndeepunapologeti was stunned after discovering from her teenage daughter that the left vs. right Twix isn't just a marketing ploy—there are actually differences between the two.

Since the '90s and early 2000's, Millennials and Gen-Xers have been plagued with the question, which one is which: the Left Twix or the Right Twix?

After a series of commercials were televised featuring brothers Seamus and Earl, the concept of the Twix candy bar was born, but the brothers could not agree about how to formulate their bars. The pair argued about "flowing [or] cascading" caramel, and either "bathing [or] cloaking" the bars in chocolate.

Since the series of commercials came to be, there have been honest-to-goodness conversations about the differences between the left and right Twix, like one cookie being chewier than the other, or one cookie being tougher than the other.

There have since been marketing stints, like presenting the candy bars that read "Left Twix" and "Right Twix" to be purchased separately.

But until this week, mom and TikToker @missskinndeepunapologeti did not believe there was anything different about the two bars, at least until her teenage daughter pointed it out.

While sorting through their Halloween candy, the mom offered to take the Snickers and leave the "handful" of Twix for her daughter, since her daughter has a severe peanuts allergy.

But then her daughter told her that she "only ate the left Twix," stating that the two bars are different.

The TikToker exclaimed:

"She said, 'Yeah, it's the differences in the caramel and in the cookie. I only like the left side."
"And I thought she was pulling my chain, so I asked Alexa what the difference was, right? And Alexa gives me this answer that there is such a thing as a left and a right [side]!"
"I was today years old finding this out! I never knew there was such a thing between the Twix."
"Am I the only one who didn't know this? Tell me I'm not the only one."

Fellow Tiktokers were similarly "today years old" about the mom's discovery.

But some stated that they, too, had preferences when it came to Left Twix and Right Twix bars.

The next day, her daughter's comments were still bothering her, so she went to the grocery store to investigate.

The TikToker found full-sized candy bars that were not labeled in any way to identify the bars as "left or right." Only a bag of miniature Twix bars were labeled with "Left" miniature bars and "Right" miniature bars.

She stated, definitively, that according to the "people she talked to" and the ingredients on the packaging, the only difference between the Left and Right bars is that sometimes the cookie might be a little softer, and a bar might have a little more caramel or more chocolate coating. The Twix in and of itself is not different between the Left and the Right.

She found people's comments about having a preference for the left or right bar—including her daughter's comments on the subject— interesting after doing this research since it appeared there was little difference to be had other than a slight variation in texture and sweetness from time to time.

This is a great example of how far good, convincing marketing can go, and how lasting of an impact it can have.

Even Trump's NASA Director Had To Set Kim Kardashian Straight After She Said The Moon Landing 'Didn't Happen'

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy—who is also NASA's Acting Administrator—issued the weirdest fact-check ever when he corrected reality star Kim Kardashian after she revealed herself to be a moon landing conspiracist.

Conspiracy theorists have long alleged the moon landing was fabricated by NASA in what they claim was an elaborate hoax—and Kardashian certainly made it clear where she stands in a video speaking to co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the new Hulu drama All’s Fair.

Special Olympics Fires Back At Kid Rock With Powerful Statement After He Used 'The R-Word' To Describe Halloween Costume

MAGA singer Kid Rock was called out by Loretta Claiborne, the Chief Inspiration Officer of the Special Olympics, after he used the "r-word"—a known ableist slur—to describe his Halloween costume this year.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters when he donned a face mask and said he'd be going as a "r**ard" for Halloween. Watters had guessed he was dressed as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who spearheaded the nation's COVID-19 pandemic response.
