Director Joshua Newton recently spoke about his upcoming 'satirical thriller' about OJ Simpson called 'The Juice'—and detailed how Wilson turned down a massive offer to star as real-life attorney Douglas McCann.

Owen Wilson reportedly turned down $12 million dollars to star in a film about O.J. Simpson because it would depict Simpson as innocent, this all according to the director of the film, Joshua Newton.

The upcoming "satirical thriller" Juice follows the story of real-life attorney Douglas McCann who gets drawn in by conspiracy theorists during Simpson’s 1995 criminal trial.

Newton told The Hollywood Reporter that he believed Wilson would be perfect for the part of McCann and even made quite the offer.

“Owen Wilson was perfect for the role."
“I actually had a meeting with him in Santa Monica."
"Everybody loved the script. His agent wanted him to do it."
"We offered him $12 million."

But Wilson was not on board.

“But at the end of the lunch, Owen stood up and said, ‘If you think I’m going to take the lead role in a movie about how O.J. didn’t do it, you’ve got to be kidding me.'"

People on social media sided with Wilson and applauded him for turning down the role despite the massive paycheck.

Newton said that he did eventually find a “spot on” actor to portray McCann, but he hasn't yet disclosed who will be playing the part.

As for the other actors, Simpson is being portrayed by German-born actor Boris Kodjoe, while Charlotte Kirk will play Nicole Brown Simpson.

Newton is hoping to have the film completed by the 30th anniversary of Simpson's verdict: October 3, 2025.

Billionaire Elon Musk was given a blunt reminder about what will actually destroy life on Earth after he claimed in an interview with Fox News personality Jesse Watters that he's he's looking to colonize Mars and other planets because the Sun will eventually destroy life on Earth

The Sun, our life-sustaining star, is essentially a massive nuclear reactor, continuously converting hydrogen into helium through fusion and radiating energy outward. But like all stars, it has a finite lifespan. Scientists estimate that the Sun will exhaust its core hydrogen supply in about five billion years, marking the beginning of the end of its stable life.
