You've goat to be kidding!
Police officers in Enid, Oklahoma responded to wails of what they thought was a human in distress.
But it turned out the alarming call actually came from something else entirely.

Bodycam footage of an officer running toward the cries for help revealed they were coming from a goat that had been “separated from one of his friends."
The Enid Police Department posted the lighthearted discovery on their Facebook page and wrote:
"Sometimes a call can really get your goat."
"Yesterday, Officer David Sneed and Officer Neal Storey responded to a report of someone heard yelling for help."
"Upon arriving, the officers began walking toward the faint sound of someone yelling."
"As they got closer, Officer Sneed could hear a distinct yell for 'help.'”
"Running toward the sound, the two soon discovered their damsel in distress was a very upset goat, who the farmer explained, had been separated from one of his friends."
Upon discovering the barnyard animal was the culprit, the officer wearing the bodycam was heard telling his compatriots:
"I'm like, 'that's a person.'"
"Yeah, from this long distance, sounds like hell."
The department's page concluded the post with gratitude and a dad joke.
"Thank you, gentlemen. Your swift actions (although in the end not necessary) are appreciated by us all."
"All in all, you really can’t say it was that baaad of a call."
Twitter couldn't resist passing up an opportunity for wisecracks.
People continued sharing their genuine thoughts on the situation.
It's a relief knowing no actual humans were in peril here.
But kudos to the fearless officers who quickly sprang into action to butt in.
After all, no goats, no glory.
