Trump Just Urged Ukraine and China to 'Investigate the Bidens' on Live TV--Prosecutor Explains Why That's a Felony
C-SPAN2

Shameless.

President Donald Trump is facing an impeachment inquiry for urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden in a private phone call.

So, naturally, Trump urged Ukraine and China on Thursday to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, on national television.

Yup.

The President called for the investigation while talking to reporters on the White House lawn before departing to Florida to give remarks about a new Medicare proposal.

Watch below.

"Well I would think that if [Ukrainian leaders] were honest about it, they would start a major investigation into the Bidens," the President said. "It's a very simple answer."

He continued to dig deeper.

"[L]ikewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens, because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine."

Trump is repeating the baseless claim that Joe Biden interfered with an investigation into a Ukrainian energy company on which his son served as a board member.

Former Obama U.S. Attorney and MSNBC contributor, Joyce Vance, explained to followers on Twitter why Trump's calls for investigations amount to a felony offense.

Notably, just seconds before calling for China to investigate the Bidens, Trump said:

"I have a lot of options on China, but if they don't do what we want, we have tremendous power."

This comes just days before Chinese delegates arrive at the White House for trade talks, possibly assigning even morre significance to Trump's call for an investigation. The suggestion was reminiscent of Trump's implicit quid-pro-quo noted in the White House's rough transcript of his controversial phone call with Zelesnky, in which the two leaders discussed military aid to the country before Trump asked for the "favor" of investigating the Bidens.

Another day, another felony.

An impeachment inquiry is already underway. What remains to be seen is if Republicans will stand up to their leader.

Hillary Clinton Just Threw Some Epic Shade At Trump Over His Push To Print $250 Bills Featuring His Portrait

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked President Donald Trump following a report he approved a proposed design featuring his portrait on a new $250 bill bearing his signature, despite longstanding federal law barring living people from appearing on U.S. currency.

According to four current and former Treasury Department employees who spoke to the Post anonymously out of fear of retaliation, two political appointees at the department—U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown—repeatedly pressed Bureau of Engraving and Printing staff beginning last year to develop prototype designs for the bill.

Kathleen Thomas, 36, was pulled over in February by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy over an alleged distracted driving violation captured on both Thomas’ phone and police body cam footage.
