People Can't Even With 'Fox and Friends' Host's Questionable Defense of Trump's National Emergency Declaration

That's a reach.

The hosts of Fox and Friends were hard at work defending President Donald Trump's controversial intention to declare a national state of emergency at the southern border, citing an illegal immigration crisis.

Host Ainsley Earhardt raised eyebrows when giving one reason Trump's declaration was justified.

Earhardt said:

“This is one of the reasons people went to the polls to vote for him – for that wall, and if you ask Republicans who support him and support the wall, they say it’s common sense.”

In November 2016, Donald Trump lost the popular vote by nearly three million ballots, with his opponent Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote by the widest margin of any losing candidate.

So, by Earhardt's logic, the majority of Americans voted against the wall.

People on Twitter were quick to point this out.

The hosts weren't spared either.

Americans lampooned the willingness of hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade for constantly misrepresenting reality at the expense of millions of Americans.

At least they have the President's approval.

Trump would later declare a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.

Space Force Commander Fired Over Email Criticizing Vance's Greenland Comments

Vice President J.D. Vance and the wider Trump administration are facing criticism now that Colonel Susan Meyers was removed from her post as commander at Greenland's Pituffik Space Base after breaking with Vance in an email she wrote following his controversial visit to the island territory.

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the Faroe Islands, the only other autonomous territory within the Kingdom. Citizens of both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are full citizens of Denmark. As one of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union, Greenland’s citizens are also recognized as EU citizens.
