Fox News Hosts Couldn't Stop Raving About Michelle Obama's Democratic Convention Speech

Fox News Hosts Couldn't Stop Raving About Michelle Obama's Democratic Convention Speech
Fox News // DNC

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is one of the most revered public figures in the entire world, so it's no wonder that she's delivered remarks at every single Democratic National Convention in the past 12 years.

On Monday night, Obama delivered the closing remarks of the first night of the first ever virtual Democratic National Convention.

Mrs. Obama, whose "When they go low, we go high" speech went viral after the 2016 convention, skewered President Donald Trump more directly than any address she'd ever given, The former First Lady also stressed the importance of showing up to vote, before fully endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden as the 2020 Democratic nominee.

Mrs. Obama concluded:

"This is who we still are: compassionate, resilient, decent people whose fortunes are bound up with one another. And it is well past time for our leaders to once again reflect our truth...And if we want to keep the possibility of progress alive in our time, if we want to be able to look our children in the eye after this election, we have got to reassert our place in American history. And we have got to do everything we can to elect my friend, Joe Biden, as the next president of the United States."

Even Fox News—which didn't air the first hour of the convention and frequently interrupted the second hour—had nothing but praise for the former First Lady.

Watch below.

Fox News host Dana Perino said:

"When you talk about authenticity, she has it in spades. She has that voice, she has clarity, and she knows what she is out there wanting to do. She was trying to get everybody to really focus and then she had a call to action: Ask for your ballot tonight. I think that the DNC, if they look over the course of the night, the first virtual convention of our history, they would say that Michelle Obama stuck the landing."

Fox's Chris Wallace replied:

"I agree with Dana. Michelle Obama, as she said, doesn't like politics and she said that this speech was her main contribution to the Biden campaign. It was a heck of a contribution. She really flayed, sliced and diced Donald Trump, talking about the chaos and confusion and lack of empathy, especially coming from this president and from this White House."

And though ultra conservative Brit Hume still accused Mrs. Obama of "exaggerations," even he admitted that the speech was "very good" and "effective."

It was entertaining to see hosts of America's most conservative mainstream network concede to Obama.

Others agreed that the speech was captivating.

But praise for the speech wasn't universal. President Donald Trump, naturally, railed against the speech on Twitter and later—at an event commemorating women's suffrage—said the former First Lady was "in over her head."

CNN Just Used A Hilarious Poll To Show Just How Unpopular Trump's Ballroom Is—And We're Cackling

After President Donald Trump claimed that his new White House ballroom is "very popular" with the American public, CNN shared a hilariously shady poll that gets to the truth of the matter.

Last year, Trump ordered the demolition of the entire East Wing to make way for a 90,000 square-foot ballroom that will dwarf the size of the White House itself, sparking alarm from historical preservationists and the public alike.

Woman In Labor Times How Long Her Husband Takes To Poop To See If She Can Push Their Baby Out Faster In Hilarious Viral Video

It's well-known across the internet that it takes forever for men to use the restroom. For dads especially, in the time it takes them to poop, when they return to the house, their kids will have aged seven years, and their baby will have learned to walk.

These are jokes, of course, but it's an internet consensus that men spend a really long time on the porcelain throne.
