Melania Slammed For Touting Her 'Be Best' Campaign In Tone-Deaf Farewell Video

Melania Slammed For Touting Her 'Be Best' Campaign In Tone-Deaf Farewell Video
The White House/YouTube

With the Trump presidency in its final days, First Lady Melania Trump took to the internet to post a farewell message on Monday, January 18.

In the video, Melania called on Americans to "focus on what unites us. To rise above what divides us. To always choose love over hatred, peace over violence, and others before yourself."

She also promoted her much-mocked "Be Best" initiative one last time before leaving the White House.

Many people online felt these messages were pretty hollow, considering President Trump's track record while in office and the First Lady's unwavering support for him.

Twitter was quick to call Melania out on her hypocrisy.

She is the first first lady in modern history to refuse to give the incoming first lady a tour of the White House residence.

Many online expressed joy to see Melania leave.

Melania Trump is leaving the White House with the lowest final approval rating ever.

Twitter was, in many cases, literally counting down the minutes until Melania's replacement, Dr. Jill Biden, took over.

Melania's speech was also called out as tone-deaf by some critics who noted its strange detachment from recent events.

Melania Trump's time as First Lady will likely be remembered as strangely controversial while being devoid of accomplishments, considering most first ladies' tenures find easy approval and manage to avoid scandal or launch major initiatives.

Melania didn't manage either.

People Explain What Happened To Significant Others Who Cheated And Then Dated Their Affair Partner

Whether we've been cheated on before, most of us hold pretty strong opinions about the people of the world who choose to cheat instead of simply ending the relationship.
