Kentucky Democrats Spoof Mitch McConnell's Campaign By Selling 'Moscow Mitch' Wrapping Paper

Conservatives who celebrate Christmas this year are overjoyed at the prospect of having Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's face plastered all over presents underneath the tree.

At least that is what McConnell's re-election campaign team thinks.

The Kentucky Senator, who is seeking a seventh term, is on a roll. A roll of holiday wrapping paper, that is.

For a $25 contribution, donors will receive a roll of gift wrap with McConnell's face in a Santa hat and holly bow-tie.

Kevin Golden, McConnell's campaign manager, explained why on earth such a novelty item would come into existence.

"We wanted to give our supporters a fun way to surprise their family and rib their liberal friends this holiday season."

Kentucky Democrats found their own way to rib the entire affair altogether.

On Monday, they countered the Senator's gift wrap by introducing their line of wrapping paper with the tagline:

"Just Say Nyet to Moscow Mitch."

The item instantly received worldwide appeal.

According to AP, the original phrase "Moscow Mitch" was coined by a retired school teacher in Kentucky.

It began circulating in July when the conservative Senator blocked legislation that would protect the nation from foreign attack in light of the Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.

Team Mitch's Twitter account encouraged supporters to act quickly as the merchandise is "running out."

The item's popularity could be because of its versatility.

Team Mitch's wrapping paper gets an update.

Former Trump and McConnell supporter, David Weissman, spoke out in response to the Senator's contempt for the moniker.

In an open letter addressed to McConnell, Weissman wrote:

"You are single-handedly putting our Democracy at risk. This is why the people are calling you Moscow Mitch. If you don't like this nickname, do your job and represent the American people."

The Kentucky Democratic Party first hawked paraphernalia using the phrase "Just say Nyet to Moscow Mitch" on a red T-shirt with a picture of McConnell wearing a Cossack hat emblazoned with the hammer and sickle symbol.

All proceeds went towards the state's party.

The KDP's news release stated:

"We've even thrown in a 'Moscow Mitch' Cossack-style faux-fur hat for extra snark."

The Christmas gift wrap war is officially on.

Go on.

You know what to do.

While a person's wedding day is meant to be a celebration of their love and starting a new life with their partner, it's also important to remember the life they're leaving "behind," specifically the household that raised them.

In a video that's gone viral multiple times before, a Chinese father presents his daughter, who is about to be married, with a bowl of dumplings. He then selects one dumpling and feeds it to her, as a reminder of how he raised her and symbolizing that this is the last time he'll take care of her before she becomes a married woman.
