The 'Daily Show' host had the internet laughing after his shocked reaction to a game-tying shot by Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey to send it into overtime went viral.

Jon Stewart's shocked expression at a New York Knicks game has become a meme-worthy slam dunk.

Images of the Daily Show host showed the dedicated Knicks fan looking dumbfounded while standing inside Madison Square Garden's courtside after the Philadelphia 76ers ruined his team's chances of making it to the second round of the NBA playoff series.

The moment capturing Stewart looking completely dejected followed the 76ers' All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey finishing Game 5 of the Knicks-Sixers first-round playoff series with 46 points, including a game-tying three-pointer, sending both teams into overtime.

Here is the viral image of Stewart with Maxey trotting past him after his victorious three-pointer shot.

And a meme was born.

Once he realized he had been memed, Stewart took to X (formerly Twitter) and poked fun at himself by conveying his overall exasperation with the game.

"Respect to Maxey
but damn
I’m clearly getting too old for this sh*t
" wrote Stewart.

The 76ers ultimately defeated the Knicks with 112-106 in overtime

The two teams will go head to head again on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia for Game 6 in the NBA playoff series.
