Joe Pesci Reveals He Suffered 'Serious Burns' On His Head While Filming 'Home Alone 2'

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is 30 years old!

Yeah, we feel old, too.

In celebration of the classic holiday film's anniversary, half of the Wet Bandit—later the Sticky Bandits—duo talked to PEOPLE about the nostalgic movie.

Joe Pesci, who played unsuccessful burglar Harry in the original Home Alone and the sequel said he enjoyed the lightheartedness of the movie.

"It was a nice change of pace to do that particular type of slapstick comedy."

However, the movies did take a physical toll on Pesci.

"But the Home Alone movies were a more physical type of comedy, therefore, a little more demanding."

In both movies, Pesci's character Harry and Daniel Stern's character Marv attempt to make their Christmas bonuses in unethical ways, but both times are outwitted by young Kevin, who was played by Macaulay Culkin.

In the films, Kevin does not hold back from putting the hurt on the bandits, stopping them any way he can.

While Pesci said he was fortunate to have a stunt double for some of the more rigorous scenes, he performed some of them himself. One such part is the famous scene in which Harry's hat is set ablaze by one of Kevin's booby traps.

Pesci revealed he actually sustained injuries from that particular scene.

"In addition to the expected bumps, bruises, and general pains that you would associate with that particular type of physical humor, I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire."

While no one wants to hear Pesci got injured, many are not surprised...given the degree of hijinks pulled by the film's young protagonist.

But everyone agreed they wouldn't want to see anyone else play Harry.

When asked about reprising his role, Pesci didn't seem hopeful, saying the energy of the OGs would be "difficult to replicate."

"While you never say never, I think that it would be difficult to replicate not only the success but also the overall innocence of the originals."

"It's a different time now; attitudes and priorities have changed in 30 years."
