In his State of the Union address earlier this year, President Donald Trump triumphantly said that "the years of economic decay are over."
Against all evidence, Trump frequently claims that former President Barack Obama's administration tanked the national economy.
In reality, Obama inherited one of the worst economies in American history when he was elected after the 2008 financial crisis. Before the end of his two terms as President, GDP growth reached highs that Trump has yet to match.
The current President credits himself with the enviable pre-pandemic unemployment rate, but virtually never acknowledges that the rate was the continuation of a years-long reduction in unemployment that began during Obama's tenure.
Now, a resurfaced video of Trump in a 2004 interview shows him admitting that Democrats are better at maintaining a stable economy than Republicans.
Watch below.
"It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans."

Trump said:
"It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now it shouldn't be that way, but if you go back, it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats."
For once, even Trump's critics agreed with him.

In addition to killing over 180 thousand Americans, the virus has left millions suddenly unemployed and struggling to make ends meet.
Trump's critics don't trust him to lead the recovery.
The stock market is not the economy.
Imagine where our country could be if Mitch McConnell and President Trump paid as much attention to struggling families as they did to Wall Street.https://t.co/K5iK9s9Rue

It is a verifiable fact that through commission or omission president trump made the economy worse, made the pandemic worse, made racial strive worse, made the deficit worse and worsened our foreign relations with nearly every other country.
