Trump's Latest Reason for Going to Walter Reed Medical Center Last Year Directly Contradicts His Reason at the Time

Last year, President Donald Trump was unexpectedly taken to Walter Reed Medical Center, prompting speculation about the President's health.

That speculation was revived again when New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt wrote in his forthcoming book that Vice President Mike Pence was told to be on standby to temporarily take over as President in case Trump needed to be anesthetized for a procedure. That step wasn't necessary.

Trump denied this in a tweet on Tuesday.

Trump insisted that he hadn't had any "mini-strokes," which was especially curious because no outlet had reported that the President had suffered mini-strokes.

Perhaps even more curiously, Trump claimed that his visit last year was to complete his yearly physical, but this contradicts what he said at the time of the visit to Walter Reed.

In the immediate aftermath, Trump said he'd gone to the medical center to do the first part of his yearly physical, with the second part to be completed at a later date.

Then-White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham echoed claims that Trump was undergoing the first "portions" of his medical exam, then assured in an interview with Fox News' Jeanine Pirro that the President was in excellent health.

"He is healthy as can be. I put a statement out about that. He's got more energy than anybody in the White House. That man works from 6 a.m. until, you know, very, very late at night. He's doing just fine."

This latest contradiction has only exacerbated the mystery around the President's visit.

But this contradiction wasn't the only red flag.

When asked about reports that he was on standby to take over as President during Trump's visit, Mike Pence stopped short of denying it.

Jasmine Crockett Calls Out Trump's Hypocrisy By Pointing Out How Melania Got Her Visa

Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett pointed out President Donald Trump's hypocrisy on immigration considering how First Lady Melania Trump's pathway to citizenship was possible because she received an "Einstein visa," which is usually reserved for an individual with "some sort of significant achievement."

Speaking during a House Judiciary Committee hearing titled “Restoring Integrity and Security to the Visa Process,” Crockett noted that “the idea that Trump and my Republican colleagues want to restore integrity and security in the visa process is actually a joke," and harshly criticized the Trump administration's immigration crackdown and visa restrictions.

Fox Host Comes To Reporter's Defense After Pete Hegseth Berates Her At Pentagon Briefing

Fox News' chief political analyst Brit Hume came to the defense of Fox national security reporter Jennifer Griffin after their former colleague, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, criticized Griffin as the reporter "who misrepresents the most intentionally what the president says” in a Pentagon news conference.

Hegseth, a former Fox News anchor, had criticized media outlets—including his former network—for what he described as unpatriotic reporting. Hegseth took particular aim at early intelligence assessments suggesting that President Donald Trump's bombing of Iran may not have significantly crippled Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Fox Host Slams Dem For Dropping An F-Bomb After Praising Trump For The Same Thing Just Minutes Earlier

Fox News host Emily Compagno was criticized after she praised Donald Trump's use of the "f-bomb" earlier this week before condemning Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett's use of the same word—on the same episode of her show, no less.

Trump made headlines this week after admonishing Israel and Iran for violating a ceasefire agreement he'd announced on Truth Social. Although he claimed the ceasefire had been "agreed upon," Iran fired at least six missile barrages at Israel after it was supposed to take effect.
