Woman Who Was Banned From Uber For Coughing On Driver Says She'll Just Take Lyft—Then Lyft Bans Her

Woman Who Was Banned From Uber For Coughing On Driver Says She'll Just Take Lyft—Then Lyft Bans Her

A woman who took off her mask, assaulted, coughed on, and ultimately pepper sprayed an Uber driver, was planning on taking her business elsewhere—until she was thwarted.

The woman, who remains unidentified, was captured on the dash-cam of an Uber coughing on her driver and screaming at him he was disrespectful and grabbing his phone out of his hands.

Police say the driver chose to discontinue the ride because one of the passengers refused to wear a mask.

While being assaulted, the driver was also pelted by racial slurs, profanity and other colorful language from the other two passengers.

The woman who coughed on him then made a video after the fact.

She said she planned to sue Uber for the incident, as she said the driver was dropping them in what she deemed an "unsafe" neighborhood.

"That's why I take Lyft!" she said, but Lyft was pretty quick to shut that one down.

"Although this incident did not involve the Lyft platform, the unacceptable treatment of the driver in this video compelled us to permanently remove the rider from the Lyft community," wrote the ride-share platform.

"Driving in a pandemic is not easy. Please wear a mask, respect one another, and be a good person."

The driver, Subhakar Khadka, a 32-year-old man from Nepal, now has a GoFundMe after Uber reportedly refused to "help him with lost wages and cleaning," giving him only $20 initially in compensation.

He has already raised over $50,000.

Dads have a lot to learn when it comes to raising their kids, and in some case, single dads don't always have the same sounding board for their choices as married couples and co-parents.

This isn't talked about enough, but dads with daughters have the added pressure of learning how to take care of girls, from dressing them to taking care of their hair, which can be a very different experience from raising boys. If they weren't raised with sisters or female cousins, they could be at a total loss for how to approach this.
