We know we're all going to die some day, but we don't often stop to think about how close we could be at any given moment... unless you have a death-related anxiety, in which case this article may be triggering, so proceed with caution.
Singer and satirist Randy Rainbow has been parodying politics since the first presidency of MAGA Republican President Donald Trump. But Trump isn't the focus of Rainbow's latest comedy music video.
Instead, the performer—whose name really is Randy Rainbow—set his sights on the mysterious 92-day disappearance of Kentucky MAGA Republican Senator and former Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell. In June, the 84-year-old lawmaker reportedly fell at his home and was taken to the hospital.
What followed was over three months out of the public eye, which led to speculation on McConnell's continued existence on the mortal realm and calls for proof of life and fitness to serve, including from Kentucky Democratic Governor Andy Beshear.
Then, on September 14, 2026, after 92 days, McConnell reappeared. Rainbow felt that trick was worthy of a song parody.
Drawing on the songbook of crooner Frank Sinatra, Rainbow riffed on his hit "Witchcraft" for a Halloween-themed tune devoted to McConnell's resurrection, titled "Mitchcraft."

Rainbow shared the video across social media with the caption:
"Happy Halloween! Nothing scarier than term limits. Stick around for a sing-along séance."
The video opens in black and white in a nod to classic horror films and old-fashioned holiday television extravaganzas with the usual humorous commentary by Rainbow.
The camera approaches an eerie old home where Rainbow opens the door and says:
"Happy Halloween. It's the scariest time of the year—the midterms."
Rainbow also shared the song's credits.
The accomplished singer-songwriter and author sang:
"That vacant senate chair, that sh*t-my-diaper-stare, he croaked and they don’t care, it’s Mitchcraft!"
"His staff keeps dropping hazy hints, he works 'remote' for crazy stints, cause he’s been pushing daisies since June."
"Doing Mitchcraft, Mitchy Mitchcraft, for they dread their red’s about to turn blue."
People shared their appreciation for Rainbow's latest masterpiece.
McConnell had previously announced on February 20, 2025, that he would not seek an eighth Senate term after serving for over four decades. His term ends in January 2027.
Former Democratic state Representative Charles Booker and Republican Representative Andy Barr are the leading contenders to take McConnell's seat in the November midterms.

Democratic Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed told comedian Hasan Minhaj on Minhaj's podcast that Americans "are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room," explaining that the leadership of President Donald Trump and other administration officials is rooted in deep-seated insecurity and fragility.
El-Sayed appeared on Minhaj Doesn't Know to discuss his experiences amid the ongoing Islamophobic attacks Republicans have leveled at him in the final days of the midterm election cycle. El-Sayed, a democratic socialist, has faced accusations he is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Against this backdrop, the candidate, who is running against GOP candidate Mike Rogers, had cutting words to describe Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other cronies in their orbit.
He said:
“We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. Whatever you think about him, he has one genius which is the genius of getting attention, because his dad never gave him enough."
“Because he was a nepo baby, because he had resources, realized quickly that he just craved for attention and then used the bullying tactics that he uses right now to get it. But the man is an idiot, I mean, just when it comes down to it, like, just a fool.”
"And then you've got other people like JD Vance who do this thing of becoming curs to the dumbest person in the room. JD Vance is a smart person, but he has no actual soul, and he has no actual charisma, and so his thing is just to suck up to the strongest person in the room to do their bidding.”
"And then you've got people like Pete Hegseth who are like, mini-fool bullies around him. But this whole coterie of the dumbest people or the most cowardly people are running the country, so part of the responsibility I believe we have is not to allow them to use their power to bend the rest of us to their will."
"And that means standing up and the thing about it is if you've ever stood up to a bully, you realize that they're very fragile. Once you get past the immediate bullying and the fear that they strike in people, there's no 'there, there.' And when you hit them back, they back off."
"And so, I'm not looking to bully anybody but if you are walking around bullying people and you are causing them harm as a function of it, I'm going to show up and do exactly to you what you do to everybody else."

Many concurred with his assessment.
El-Sayed, who Trump has referred to as a "radical jihadist" as well as a "communist," said in a recent interview that these attacks only underscore how much Republicans "want to distract you from the issues at hand." He said Republicans "want to talk about me and my name as if me and my name are causing the problems."
Separately, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ramped up the Islamophobic rhetoric when he wrongly asserted that "all of that tradition has been destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood," adding that "They’ve created stagnant societies that do one of two things: hatred and war and victimization."
Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno went further, saying El-Sayed cannot be a member of the Senate because he isn't Christian. Moreno said El-Sayed lacks an understanding of "that concept that our rights come from God Almighty," arguing El-Sayed can't be trusted to serve the public because of his Muslim faith.
Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico had people cheering with his response to a supporter who asked if he is going to be "the one to turn Texas blue."
Ahead of the early voting deadline in Texas, news outlets reported the findings of the latest poll by Quantus Insights showing that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Talarico's GOP opponent for the U.S. Senate, holds a razor thin lead over Talarico. 48.7% of respondents backed Paxton, while 47.6% backed Talarico. Other polls show Talarico ahead.
This means that the race in Texas has never been more competitive—and Talarico gave an answer that acknowledged the high stakes as Democrats push forward with their efforts to flip the state in the final days of the midterm election campaign.
Talarico said:
"I'm not interested in turning Texas blue. I wanna win this seat so that I can fight for all 31 million Texans—whether they're Democrats, independents, or Republicans."
"My party talks about turning Texas blue a lot. Republicans talk about keeping Texas red. I've said before I think the best color for Texas is purple. I think she would look great in purple."
"Because when you have a purple state, when you have competitive elections, it forces every politician in both parties at all levels to stay on their toes. And we've seen this before when we saw Democrats flip state House districts in 2018. I was one of the twelve that flipped. Suddenly, in 2019, you saw the Republican leadership focusing on real issues."
"We were able to come together as Democrats and Republicans to pass historic school finance reform, historic property tax relief. We weren't chasing crazy culture wars, we weren't grandstanding on issues. We were actually solving problems. And so I've seen this work: when you have competitive election results, you get better public policy on the backend."
"And my hope in this race is that we can finally end 30 years of one-party rule and get some competitive elections back in Texas so that all politicians are staying on their toes and trying to represent all 31 million Texans."

AMC is pitching its new Double Sandworm Collectible as a way to make sharing popcorn easier. A thoughtful gesture, really, although the two gaping, tooth-lined mouths suggest the design team may have had a little too much fun with the assignment.

And just when you think AMC has exhausted its supply of questionable ideas, along comes the Sandworm Thumper with a working thumper mechanism. Oh, it gets better. This isn't just another plastic bucket—it's one with a little action built in. The concession stand has officially become the main attraction.

For anyone wondering whether AMC realizes just how much attention these buckets attract, the theater chain is well aware of the frenzy. And rather than play it safe for the third film, the company set out to make its latest collectibles an even bigger event.
AMC's Hank Green isn't pretending the internet forgot:
“The AMC Sandworm popcorn bucket for ‘Dune: Part Two’ became a viral phenomenon, and we knew that ‘Dune’ fans would have high expectations for what came next.”
And there's serious money behind these collectibles.
AMC expects themed merchandise to bring in more than $100 million this year, while Hollywood is now selling everything from sandworms to a $70 Trojan horse popcorn bucket for The Odyssey. Yes, we've reached the point where the container can cost more than the entire movie date.

The new Dune collectibles are expected to be available at AMC theaters in the United States and Odeon cinemas in Europe, though prices have yet to be announced. So, while we know what we're getting, the damage to our wallets remains a mystery.
And yes, beneath all the concession-stand theatrics, there's still a science-fiction epic to unpack.
Dune: Part Three sees Denis Villeneuve adapting Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, with Timothée Chalamet returning as Paul Atreides to discover that ruling an empire comes with some rather unpleasant consequences. Zendaya is back, Robert Pattinson joins the cast, and December 18 is the date.
Even the Dune cast couldn't keep a straight face about the original bucket. When Florence Pugh and Zendaya encountered the Dune: Part Two collectible on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pugh didn't bother pretending it looked innocent.
Pugh had a few objections:
“That's not okay. Who made that? That's not okay. That's wrong.”
By the time Saturday Night Live turned the bucket into a musical sketch starring Marcello Hernández, Ayo Edebiri, and Bowen Yang, the joke had officially escaped Arrakis.

And Dune: Part Three isn't the only blockbuster bringing something extra to the concession stand. Avengers: Doomsday opens on the same day, December 18, with Marvel entering the collectible competition with Doctor Doom-themed popcorn containers and Sentinel drinkware.

The bucket has made its debut. Now all it needs is a sizzle reel and a press tour.
That leaves Florence Pugh in quite a position. She stars in both films, meaning the woman who questioned the original Dune bucket could find herself pulling double duty in two competing popcorn bucket promotions. Someone check whether her contract covers this.
Two blockbusters, one release date, and a whole lot of expensive plastic. May the best bucket win.
Though she isn't as readily in the spotlight anymore, Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich star Julia Roberts is still on people's minds. And American Horror Story's Emma Roberts obviously couldn't forget her Aunt Julia on her birthday!
For those who do not know, Emma Roberts' dad is Eric Roberts, Julia Roberts' older brother. While Emma and Eric might not be that close, suggested by some interviews in the past, Emma and Julia always have been, and Emma wishes her aunt an annual happy birthday.
Last Wednesday, Emma posted an adorable photo of the pair together at an event.

Having an aunt star in big films like Erin Brockovich and a dad in films like The Dark Knight and The Expendables is sure to make an impression, and they most certainly did for Emma.
During various interviews, Emma has expressed gratitude for going on set with her aunt while her aunt was working, helping out behind the scenes, and asking questions about the production process.
