Oscar winner Cate Blanchett accompanied the band Sparks—reprising her role from the band's music video—for their performance of "The Girl is Crying in Her Latte" at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival. Blanchett's performance was unannounced, so festival attendees were very surprised.
The Glastonbury Festival is a five-day event featuring contemporary performing arts held near Pilton, Somerset, England.
Blanchett wore the same iconic bright yellow pantsuit from the video to the live performance as well. She also mirrored the video in her dance moves, which were loose and a little odd, flailing her arms and waving them to the beat.

People were amazed and impressed.
They couldn't believe it was real.
Some talked about Blanchett's unique performance style.
Some asked "how on earth did Sparks get Blanchett to do Glastonbury?".
Apparently?
Her idea.
There was a Blanchett love-fest online.
It was a bright spot in a year already full of unexpected events.
When Blanchett first heard the song, she was reportedly so elated she wanted to join the music video for the piece.
