Why Isn't There a New Episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' on Tonight? 10/19/17

Why isn't there a new episode of Grey's Anatomy on tonight, October 19, 2017? The next episode airs next week on October 26. Why did it skip this week?

Last week was episode 297, called "Danger Zone." In it, Amelia had her brain tumor removed, but her recovery left with her issues remembering things she once knew, including Derek being dead and her ability to speak French. Also in the episode, Richard and Catherine host a family dinner with Maggie and Avery but drama ensues when Catherine informs Avery that he has inherited a quarter billion dollars following Harper’s death. Bailey and Richard also host interviews as they search for prospective new interns, but they fail to find a viable candidate to take on. Meredith and Nathan also team up and research how to bring Megan’s adopted son to the United States. Amelia and Owen also have to deal with information that their marriage is based on a lie. Arizona learns that Sofia wants to leave and go back home, while Jo admits that she hates how much control her ex-husband still has over her life.

Episode 298 comes out on October 26, leaving fans two weeks to digest all the drama.

But what's the reason that a new episode of the 14th season of the hit ABC medical drama isn't airing tonight?

Tonight at 8 p.m. EDT, instead of a new Grey's, ABC will be airing two Halloween specials in its place to celebrate this spooky season.

The first one will be It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The 1966 animated classic features Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and rest of the cast of colorful characters wishing for a visit from the Great Pumpkin. The Great Pumpkin is a character invented by Peanuts creator, Charles M. Schulz, and is similar to Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

At 8:30, ABC will continue its kid-oriented Halloween content with Toy Story OF TERROR!, featuring the cast of the hit Pixar franchise, Toy Story.

Grey's will be back next week at its usual time with "Come On Down to My Boat, Baby." According to SpoilerTV, the episode is aptly named as it contains a sea-faring plot.

U.S. UFC Star Threatens Canada For Booing Anthem—Then Gets His A** Handed To Him

UFC fighter Charles Radtke was widely mocked online after talking trash about Canada before his bout with Canadian fighter Mike Malott—only to be soundly defeated by Malott in the second round.

Radtke leaned into the role of the villain leading up to the fight, invoking President Donald Trump’s talk of annexing Canada as the “51st state” and saying he was seeking revenge for Canadian hockey fans recently booing the U.S. national anthem.

High School Group Asks MAGA Rep. Why Trump Looks 'So Orange'—And His Answer Is Awkward AF

Things sure got awkward for Georgia Republican Representative Brian Jack after a group of students asked him during a Q&A session why President Donald Trump is "so orange."

People can only speculate what brand of makeup or bronzer Trump uses on a daily basis but there's a reason why he's been nicknamed "the orange man," "Agent Orange," and even "Mango Mussolini"—the color of his face is really, really hard to miss given he's photographed all the time.

Transportation Secretary Slammed After Admitting He Made A Telling Switch To Wife's Recent Flight

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was criticized after admitting in a recent audio clip that he'd just switched his wife's Newark Liberty International Airport flight to one out of LaGuardia Airport—despite previously claiming his family flies out of Newark Airport "all the time."

Duffy’s remarks came as staffing shortages caused major flight disruptions at Newark on Monday, with the F.A.A. forced to delay incoming flights from across the continental U.S. and parts of Canada. According to an online advisory, delays averaged over 1 hour and 40 minutes and in some cases stretched to nearly seven hours.
