This is the most adorable story!

Jason Coronado was making his rounds as a UPS driver last month when something happened that would change his life. Ernie, who is a pit bull and terrier mix, ran up to the truck to greet him. Jason motioned for Ernie to come on board, and once he did, their connection would change both of their lives.

He explained to the local ABC affiliate WKBW...

"[I] call him up to the truck, and he pretty much just hopped up in, and I was like, 'Okay.' He hopped up and just sat there and did not want to leave."

And once Jason left, he couldn't stop thinking about Ernie.

"He is probably my idea of a perfect dog. I wanted him to have a good home."

So, after a brief discussion with his family, Jason went back to the shelter and adopted Ernie.

Let's just say, Ernie is clearly a good boy.

People shared their own beautiful experiences with shelter dogs.

We're so glad that Ernie found a furever home!
