Steve Harvey Apologizes After Employee Posts 'Totally Negative' Tweet

The 'Family Feud' host implied that he'd fired one of his social media employees for posting a tweet asking fans to name 'a comedian you don’t find funny at all.'

Steve Harvey recently apologized for a tweet from his account, apparently posted by an employee and not himself.

In a video addressing the negative tweet, the American comedian, actor, author, and TV and radio host also implied that he probably fired the employee for the action.


The now-deleted tweet had Harvey's account asking, "A Comedian you don't find funny at all?"

In his video, Harvey clarified that he had been on a fishing trip and largely unaware of his social media posts. But that doesn't, he clarified, mean that the post wasn't still his responsibility.

“I came down here to get away, get in some nature, do some fishing. Somebody that works for me on my Twitter put a statement out that was totally negative. I gotta take responsibility for it ’cause they work for me.”

He went on to talk about how his brand is motivation and positivity, a theme at odds with the query the employee posted.

As for the employee in question? Harvey had a quip for that person, too.

“Talking ’bout ‘I was trying to get some engagement.’ Okay. Okay. You trying to get some employment, too.”

Folks immediately reassured Harvey.

Some said they knew it had to be an employee and not Harvey himself.

People agreed that positivity is a better vibe.

Several people were deeply amused by his remark about employment.

Really, Harvey is like us all.

Finally, people told him to go back and catch some fish.

At the end of the video, Harvey promised that it wouldn't happen again.
