Shannen Doherty Cries Amid Brain Radiation Treatment In Heartbreaking Instagram Video

The 'Beverly Hills 90210' star updated fans on her 'fear' after learning her breast cancer had spread to her brain.

Shannen Doherty shared a heartbreaking Instagram post updating her fans after learning her breast cancer spread to her brain.

In her post, the Beverly Hills 90210 star shared a video of her first radiation treatment from January 12, during which Doherty was visibly upset and crying, writing in her caption, "My fear is obvious."


She explained:

"January 12, 2023."
"On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain."
"January 12, the first round of radiation took place."

The Heathers star continued:

"My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life."
"I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai."
"But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like."

Friends and fans learning of Doherty's update shared their positive messages of encouragement, commending her for her bravery and perseverance.

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. In 2017 she revealed the cancer was in remission.

Then in February of 2020, Doherty announced it had spread to stage 4.

Just over a month ago, the Charmed star divorced from husband Kurt Iswarienko and shared a message on Instagram:

"The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness and total respect."
