Shakira's year as a performer might have gotten off to a rocky start, but she's made it clear she won't let anything keep her down, including herself.
Back in February, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer had to cancel two of her tour dates after she was hospitalized for a stomach issue. She explained on Instagram that her doctor said she was not "in good enough condition" to perform at the time.
In February, Shakira was ready to return to the stage, but production had other ideas. While touring throughout South America, her team found that the hired production team had not built staging that met their safety specifications and was not "stable enough to guarantee the safety" of performers and attendees.
March, April, and most of May performances went well, but Shakira caught everyone's attention again when she fell onstage.
While performing her famous "Whenever, Wherever," the singer tripped on stage and fell to the ground, but she quickly spun herself around, staging herself gracefully in front of the microphone stand, where she stood back up.
A fan caught the moment on camera and shared it on Twitter (X):

Shakira even shared a recording of the fall from a different angle to her Instagram stories, and it was later shared to Twitter.

Fans applauded Shakira for handling the moment with grace and humor.
She’s so real for this!
Instead of being ashamed she decides to share it herself. Queen, if you ask me.

A great example of resilience! I hope she didn't get injured. Such falls cause pains and injuries the next morning

Yes , because Shakira is on another level of greatness. What a garceful lady.

Now the Queen has fallen on stage before, let's not get it twisted. Nobody's perfect and it happens to the best of them. It's how you get up that counts and she handled it very well.

We're all human, and we all make mistakes, embarrass ourselves, and even fall down on stage.
What's most important is how we come back from that moment—and Shakira bounced right back and got on with the show.
