The tennis legend reminded fans to love themselves even if they aren't 'picture perfect' in a post on Instagram with baby Adira.

Serena Williams took to Instagram on Monday to remind fans that "loving yourself is essential."

The tennis icon posted a photo of herself in a white bikini holding her daughter Adira and enjoying a sunny day on a yacht.

In her caption, Williams—who welcomed baby Adira with Alexis Ohanian in August of last year—shared a powerful message about postpartum body positivity and self-love.

She wrote:

"Loving yourself is essential."
"I find that I have to remind myself of that self-love through all different stages in my life."

Williams continued:

"Right now I love that my body is not picture perfect. I love that I smell like milk - that milk sustains @adiraohanian."
"I love getting to know a new version of my body. It is a change, but it’s a change that has been well worth it."

She finished her post:

"So start this week, knowing that you are loved, and that starts with you."
"Ok, now I’m about to go to the gym 🤪"
"Serena."

Fans of the tennis legend thanked Williams for her message promoting body positivity and embracing change.
