White Man Goes On Racist Rant After Neighbors Play Latin Music On The Fourth Of July

White Man Goes On Racist Rant After Neighbors Play Latin Music On The Fourth Of July
Ivette Celedon/Facebook

Ah, Independence Day! The perfect holiday to showcase the most vile, bigoted aspects of American nationalism. On July 4th, a white man in Petaluma, California, let loose on a racist tirade against his neighbors because they were playing Latin music to celebrate the holiday.

The man can be heard shouting at the gathered family:

you want to do that on the Fourth of July … throw it in my face?

He was referencing the Latin music playing from Ivette Celedon's backyard. Celedon recounted the situation to CBS:

My father-in-law has a speaker out back and it wasn't that loud, especially not over their loud music that they have a July 4th party every year. And we have never complained about them.

Celedon posted the entire infuriating incident to Facebook with the caption:

So in a family backyard bbq we're not allowed to have Spanish music because it's disrespectful to the country????? Land of the free right? Celebrating independence!!! We are celebrating Independence Day just like everyone else! #neverhadaproblemuntil2018

The unnamed neighbor has now apologized, though his statement to CNN leaves a little to be desired:

Sometimes I wish they would assimilate more. I hear them playing [Spanish language] music in the backyard all the time and it doesn't bother me. Because of the day and what July 4th means to me, I felt disrespected.

Swiss Church Sparks Debate After Introducing Bizarre AI Jesus Hologram To Take Confessions

A church in Switzerland is stirring debate with its use of an AI-generated Jesus hologram for confessions. Dubbed Deus in Machina (“God in Machine”), the project is installed at St. Peter’s Chapel in Lucerne, the city’s oldest Catholic church.

The hologram, developed by experts from Lucerne University’s Immersive Realities Center and a parish theologian, greets users with, “Peace be with you, brother,” and invites them to share what’s troubling their hearts. It can respond in 100 languages, with answers based on sacred scripture and theological texts sourced from the internet.

Dem Rep. Expertly Pinpoints Why Republicans Are Dismantling DEI Programs In Mic Drop Rant

Speaking during a House Oversight Committee hearing, Pennsylvania Democratic Representative Summer Lee expertly pinpointed why diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs are being targeted by Republicans nationwide, noting that "remedying past discrimination is not, in turn, a discrimination."

DEI programs are organizational strategies aimed at ensuring fair treatment and full participation for everyone, with a special focus on historically marginalized or discriminated groups. These frameworks strive to create an environment where all individuals, regardless of their identity or abilities, are valued and included.
