Everyone's pain tolerance varies. What might be terrible for one person is a breeze to get over for someone else. Example: tooth pain. Some cringe at the thought of anyone even looking at their teeth, while others aren't phased when the dentist wiggles their tools around inside their mouths. Whatever your level may not matter, but everyone has a moment when they think, "This is the worst pain I've ever felt."

Reddit user, u/Amanda-sb, wanted to know:

[Serious] What's the worst pain you ever felt?

Pushing A Boulder Through A Door

Passing a kidney stone.

Gypsy-Fitz

Yep, took a week to pass my kidney stone. I was on Percocet the whole time. I completely changed my diet after to avoid them. Worst pain even compared against breaking either of my wrists at different times and having the bones practically split in two in two fingers by a flying hockey puck.

All In One Swift Motion

Dislocated my hip by busting it through the front of my pelvis (destroying part of my pelvis) and tearing my hamstring 60% through - all in one swift motion

Sometimes, There's No Difference Between Mental And Physical

I have a few. Physically, I had an abscess in my throat that put me in hospital and nearly killed me, it also cost me the sight in my right eye due to the infection travelling. This was five years ago.

Second, about 18 years ago, I was doing a martial arts class and we did a self defence technique where your partner strikes the groin then reaches past that, grabs your trousers and lifts you off the ground. He missed and lifted me off the floor by my testicles. I looked like Casper apparently.

Mentally, I lost my mum and the start of 2018 to cancer and that was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. I've also suffered depression but I'm doing ok now, not great but ok. Just gotta keep on, keeping on.

Worse Than Having Kids??

Fell off a ladder onto a concrete floor and dislocated my shoulder and broke my proximal humerus. It was the worst pain I have ever known (and I gave birth to three kids...) and I could hardly move for a couple of weeks without huge pain. They just strapped my arm to my body and when I would go into the hospital to have that changed, tears would roll down my face because of the pain. The nurses were kind of teary-eyed, too, but could really do nothing but sympathize. Hope to NEVER have that happen again!

Can't Even Imagine This One

I once had to have my ears washed out by the doctor

My right one was fine. It felt weird but otherwise was fine

My left however....let's just say I had a hole in my eardrum and now have a fear of getting water in my ear

The Worst Snag Ever

My one of my testicles got caught in that opening in the front of Pyjama pants. I rolled over and it twisted a lot. For the next week I was having terrible pain in my balls. I was 10 at the time and was afraid to tell anyone. Eventually told my mom and we went to the ER. They kept poking my balls and it hurt so much. I had to get an ultrasound to be sure it wasnt dead. It was just some serious torsion or whatever. I was the youngest person at the urologist when I had a follow up.

Down From Four to None

I was circumcised at the age of 7 the worst pain in my life was when I woke up from surgery and was lying on my bed. I had merely regained consciousness and turned on my side to sleep again. Huge mistake it rubbed against the blanket covering me and I screamed with the fury of a thousand banshee

No Break From The Pain

Childbirth without any pain relief.

Wicked_Grace

I was scrolling through thinking 'how is nobody saying child birth?' but then it dawned on me. Most people don't feel child birth anymore, hey?

My answer: Child birth without pain relief.

Lamesatron

I second this.

Was in labor for 48+ hours. I was exhausted and in tremendous pain. I had said I was willing to take anything except an epidural - and I kind of regret it.

I only remember pain. I kept blacking out between contractions, I threw up, and towards the end I apparently told my husband that he needed to kill me to stop the pain.

I am not doing it again.

Still Get The Fear Sweats Today

I've had 2 kids, but the worst was nursing with a massive mastitis infection. I had a swollen mass about the size of a baseball (I'm a 38F). My doctor said the best way to clear the infection was to continue to nurse (the breast pump wasn't strong enough). Basically had to let my little raptor latch onto the infection and suck. At one point there was a blinding pain, a rush of heat and my son spit out a bunch of pus. The relief was incredible. With the blockage out I was able to pump and clear the infection out. I still start to sweat when I think about how much that hurt.

Trump Ripped After Forcing National Parks To Drop Free Entry On MLK Day And Juneteenth For Infuriating Reason

President Donald Trump was criticized after the National Park Service announced it will be dropping Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth for next year's calendar of free-entry days and adding Trump's birthday, which happens to fall on Flag Day, on June 14.

Last month, the Department of the Interior unveiled changes to what it now calls its “resident-only patriotic fee-free days,” expanding the calendar to include new dates like the Fourth of July weekend and President Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, while dropping others that had honored the department itself, including the Bureau of Land Management’s anniversary.

MAGA Is Melting Down Over A Pink J. Crew Sweater For Men—And Our Eyes Can't Roll Hard Enough

MAGA fans are melting down over a $168 men's sweater from J. Crew with a fair-isle collar, claiming, in yet another example of the idiocy of the culture wars, that only liberals would actually wear it.

Dem Rep. Has An Idea For A New Line Of Work For MTG After She Leaves Congress—And It Would Certainly Be Something

California Democratic Representative Robert Garcia was elected in November 2022 and even before being sworn in, he was locking horns with one-time MAGA darling and Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.

For years, MTG was best known as the QAnon conspiracy theory-spewing, State of the Union heckling, crossfit hyping, Trump ride-or-dying, anti-LGBTQ+ racist MAGA minion from Georgia.
