Not every idea needs to have follow through...

We all have good ideas. Everyday our minds are literally boiling to the brim with brilliance, or what we believe is brilliance. And then sometimes what's meandering around the mind is unchecked tomfoolery. That mess can lead us to bad decision making, especially when we are presented with the freedom to run amok. For instance... sure, I can jump off a bridge, but should I? Yes, I can cheat on my spouse, is it worth it? Every action has a consequence... why do we constantly neglect that fact?

Redditor u/Wreckersgonnabreak wanted to discuss some of the actions people take, that maybe best left.... not done, by asking.... What is the best example of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"?

DQing....

Friendship.

Befriend high schoolers after you graduate college. Toubaboliviano

This is OK as long as there is structure, guidelines, a clear generational gap, etc.

When I was in high school I considered my coaches as non-peer friends… a decade and change later I just got done going to the gym with one of them, and I'll grab a drink from time-to-time with some of the others.

In other cases I have a continuing relationship with my high school friends parents that is independent of my relationship with the high school friend. powderizedbookworm

"free speech"

Giving your political opinion everywhere even if totally not necessary and then wiping yourself with free speech. LucioVersace

Using "free speech" as some sort of magic phrase that absolves you of all consequences from the messed-up crap you just said.

"I'm just saying, Hitler did nothing wrong. Free speech! Why did my boss fire me???" Luckboy28

Stay Still.

Run for president. I would be a horrible, horrible president. I mean, better than our current one obviously for so many reasons but I would still be horrible at the job. I'll be a grounds keeper at the White House though. That seems like fun. BoWiggly

Oversinging a song... I absolutely HATE when an amazing singer feels the need to add a million runs just cause they can. It can really ruin a great song.

Look up Beyonce's cover of silent night for an example of this. (No hate on Beyonce tho). dontjudgemynameplez

Totally agree! Drives me crazy when singers add a ton of unnecessary ornamentation. cheekycamo

Animal Care.

Adopting a pet. I've seen people get one without having the means to take care of it more times then i care to remember. Those same people then tend to view those animals as entirely disposable as well.

What's worse is when they finally unload that animal they weren't able to care for they often go and repeat the same damn mistake again with yet another puppy/kitten and the cycle continues. RhymedWithSilver

Threads User's Epic Rant Ripping MAGA Fans Who Now Claim They 'Always Had Doubts' About Trump Has The Internet Applauding

As prominent MAGA minions, like QAnon conspiracy peddler and former Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have come out against MAGA Republican President Donald Trump, so too are some lesser known individuals.

Whether it's his Iran War, his continuing saga with the Epstein files, his utter failure to keep any of his campaign promises that they banked on helping them, or the abject incompetence of his hand-picked personnel, some members of MAGA are distancing themselves from the cult.

Trump Ripped For Somehow Making His 'Happy Mother's Day' Post All About Himself Without Any Mention Of Melania

President Donald Trump was criticized after he "honored" mothers on Mother's Day by attacking Democrats in a self-absorbed post on Truth Social, never mentioning his wife, First Lady Melania, who is the mother of his youngest son Barron.

Instead of acknowledging her and mothers around the country, Trump gloated about the economy and accused critics of having "Trump Derangement Syndrome," targeting Democrats and Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve Chair he's been trying to push out of his administration.

Zach Galifianakis Expertly Lays Into Comedians Who Refuse To 'Challenge' Trump When He's A Guest On Their Podcasts

Actor and comedian Zach Galifianakis called out comedians who have had President Donald Trump on their podcasts and didn't "challenge" him, noting that they've effectively abdicated their role by not making jokes at Trump's expense or pushing back against things he says.

Galifianakis made that argument during a recent episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, where host Conan O'Brien remarked that few, if any, people have challenged a sitting president the way Galifianakis did when he interviewed then-President Barack Obama in 2014 on his satirical series Between Two Ferns.

Sean Duffy Ripped After Encouraging Americans To Take 'Road Trips' As Gas Prices Continue To Soar

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was called out after he encouraged Americans to take "road trips" as gas prices continue to rise as a result of President Donald Trump's war in Iran.

Republicans have faced pressure from constituents nationwide to address the rising cost of living, but Americans are feeling pain at the pump now that the Iran war, which the Trump administration kicked off in late February, has prompted a spike in gas prices.

Philadelphia Crossing Guard Goes To Town On Ice Cream Cone While Describing Truck Crash On TV—And Becomes An Instant Icon

Crossing guard Jamele Ransom became an instant internet favorite after casually eating a cone while recounting a chaotic playground crash near S. Weir Mitchell Elementary School on live TV.
