Tucker Carlson Calls Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chair 'Demonstrably Mentally Ill' After DNI Hearing

Tucker Carlson Calls Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chair 'Demonstrably Mentally Ill' After DNI Hearing

Wut?

Shortly after Fox News was forced to make a rare apology for using mental illness as a slur, Tucker Carlson employed the same tactic to try to discredit House Intelligence Committee Chair, Democratic Representative Adam Schiff of California.

Schiff's committee is conducting a congressional hearing over the now infamous call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Carlson focused on Thursdays's session with the acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI).

After claiming "you don't get on television unless you say extreme and mindless things" with an apparent lack of awareness of the irony...

...Carlson said of Schiff:

"He recently went into a kind of trance and delivered his own prophetic version of what he believed must have happened between President Trump and the President of Ukraine.”

Carlson then played a clip of Schiff from the hearing. The Fox News host added the oddly specific:

“Keep in mind, that isn’t some guy babbling in the men’s room at Starbucks, that is the man who chairs the mighty House Intelligence Committee."
“We trust him with the most sensitive information and yet he is clearly, demonstrably mentally ill."

Watch the expanded segment here:

While Carlson's theatrics and deliberately obtuse understanding of President Donald Trump's actions may have played well to the faithful, few others were fans.

For Fox hosts and programs that are closely associated with the Trump family and administration—giving them airtime free of challenges regarding false statements such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Fox & Friends—the possible impeachment of Donald Trump could impact their own programs and careers.

And desperation is never a good look.

The book The Fifth Risk is available here.

"What are the consequences if the people given control over our government have no idea how it works?"

GOP Senator Faces MAGA Backlash Over Plan To Sell Millions Of Acres Of Public Land

Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee is facing harsh criticism—including from Team MAGA—over his proposal to sell off millions of acres of public land in the American West owned by the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service to supposedly create more affordable housing.

Lee claimed in his proposal that there is an "extensive process for interested parties like States and local governments to nominate land for disposal to meet housing and community needs," noting that it specifically exempts national parks, monuments, and federally designated wilderness areas from potential land sales.

Trump Ripped For Complaining That Americans Get 'Too Many' Federal Holidays Off Work

While it was ultimately former President Joe Biden who established Juneteenth as a federal holiday, President Donald Trump—who once campaigned on that promise—took to Truth Social on Juneteenth to whine about the number of "non-working holidays" Americans get, claiming that it costs businesses "billions of dollars."

Juneteenth is derived from June 19, 1865, when Union troops led by General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and declared that all enslaved African Americans in the state were free.
