Far-right Congresswoman and prominent conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia is no stranger to promoting violence. She began her congressional campaign with an ad that featured her cocking an assault rifle and telling "antifa" to "stay the hell out of northwest Georgia." Ahead of her election, she expressed support on social media for the execution of prominent Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
She's called for violence against transgender people, she's suggested shooting proponents of the lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines, and she's said the "price of blood" is necessary to "restore" the United States.
But according to Greene, it's late night comedians who are the actual perpetrators of violent threats.
The far-right representative shared a video of late night host Jimmy Kimmel joking about the infamous slap moment at the Oscars earlier this month.
After mentioning an incendiary tweet from Greene, Kimmel said:
"Where is Will Smith when you really need him?"
That didn't sit well with Greene, who accused Kimmel of threatening her and claimed she reported him to the Capitol Police.
.@ABC, this threat of violence against me by @jimmykimmel has been filed with the @CapitolPolice. pic.twitter.com/nxYX1LF2jK

Greene herself has been reported to the Capitol Police by one of her own colleagues for constantly fantasizing about Second Amendment solutions against Democrats. Greene herself praised Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock onstage at the awards show, saying she appreciated his "alpha male response."
For his part, Kimmel didn't seem too bothered.
Officer? I would like to report a joke. https://t.co/3ournv9RwG

Others joined him in mocking the congresswoman.
Imagine building your entire career by calling lefties whiny snowflakes who can’t take a joke and then tweeting this https://t.co/g6uL1zul9g

Yes, I’m sure the Capitol police have nothing better to do with their time than investigate something that’s clearly a joke. 🙄 https://t.co/oPsBtHiTzw

If anyone thinks Jimmy Kimmel was making a "threat of violence" against MTG with this joke, they're as stupid as she is. She's all about free speech unless it's speech she doesn't like. Then it's "arrest him." How very fascistastic. https://t.co/HmGu8d4lIP

Others called out Greene for voting against congressional gold medals and expanded funding for the Capitol police.
Sorry, lady — you voted to defund the @CapitolPolice. https://t.co/g5AL4E41Gh
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) April 7, 2022
I don't care for the joke -- it is absolutely poor taste -- but this is the same woman who refused to vote to reward the @CapitolPolice with the Congressional gold medal for their efforts on January 6th but now wants their protection for a joke?!?!?!?!

Meanwhile, you voted Nay to awarding Congressional gold medals to the Capitol Police that protected the Capitol .. I guess you knew you weren't in any danger that day, huh?
Exactly how many FB videos have you removed where you called for Pelosi (and many others) to be executed? https://t.co/ZmE9AIy4zW

It's unclear what steps, if any, the Capitol Police have taken against Kimmel or ABC.
