Lil Nas X has been making some waves with his new video, "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)," which depicts him being cast out of heaven, riding a stripper pole to hell and getting very close up in Satan's business.
Along with the video, Lil Nas X released a new line of sneakers entitled his "Satan" sneakers, which feature a pentagram medallion and drops of blood.
This has inspired some outrage among conservatives, to which Lil Nas X has responded in kind.
He posted a video on YouTube that earned an age restriction.
All 666 of Nas' first edition product have already sold out.
Lil Nas X's "apology" started with him saying:
"I see everybody's been talking about this shoe and I just wanna say..."
It then cuts to a clip of the music video.
A second "apology" in the comments is the same video, except the clip cuts to the FULL video of "Montero."
His final "offer" of apology was when he trolled he'd also released a holier-than-thou pair of sneakers sponsored by Chick-Fil-A.
Lil Nas X's video for "Montero" was extremely personal to him, as he made clear in an emotional letter he penned and posted to Twitter, addressed to his 14-year-old self.
Lil Nas X is not apologizing for going where he did with "Montero" or with his new Satan shoes, as the statement he's making is so incredibly important to him and to millions of LGBTQ+ youth around the world.
In his own words, those who object can "stay mad."
