Kate Beckinsale Hilariously Claps Back At Trolls Criticizing Her For Wearing Oversized Bow

The actor responded to several shaming comments on her latest Instagram video in which she sports a large black bow on her head—and she didn't mince words.

When you're a celebrity, someone is always going to have something nasty to say about everything you do—even the most frivolous things possible.

Case in point, actor Kate Beckinsale's recent choice to wear a huge whimsical bow in her hair while shooting a series of clips for her Instagram profile.

In the videos, Beckinsale is seen learning how to make mozzarella cheese with a professional chef and dancing the night away at an event. But all several people in the comments could focus on was the bow on her head.

Beckinsale has made eye-catching fashion choices a staple in recent years in her appearances, often sporting an adventurous sense of style.

This event was no exception, with the bow joined with several other eye-catching outfit elements including black gloves, hot pants and enormous platform boots.

But the bow is what really set commenters off. And Beckinsale wasn't having it.

One commenter snarked:

"Please take that ridiculous bow off."

And Beckinsale was at the ready with a heated clapback, and one that suggested she's dealt with this particular troll before.

She wrote:

"As I said before, take that expression off your bitter a*s face. Unless you can't. In which case, condolences."

Snap! But it didn't end there.

Another commenter chimed in to back up the original troll, writing:

"I am a happy person, and I still think the head dressing is a very poor choice."

Beckinsale was unfazed. She clapped back again, replying with the obvious:

"You can't be that happy if you have any time or inclination to actually type concerns about what someone you don't know is wearing or not."

Fans loved Beckinsale's quick and well deserved takedowns, with several cheering her on and complimenting her look.

Beckinsale has been very open in the past about her anxiety about her appearance and aging and the ways the constant "insidious bullying" she endures on Instagram exacerbates those issues.

In a since-deleted post, she wrote:

"Every time I post anything — and by the way, this has been the case since I was about 30 — I am accused of having had unrecognisable surgery/using Botox using fillers/being obsessed with looking younger and it’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person."

It just goes to show that celebrities are people too. If you don't like what they're wearing, you can just scroll on by.
