The actor gave an introspective answer after she was caught lying about her 'real voice' during a 'Vanity Fair' lie detector test.

Julia Fox got busted for lying about her 'normal speaking voice' during a Vanity Fair lie detector test—but the actor had a refreshingly insightful response as to why she and other women use 'baby voices.'

During the interview, Vanity Fair asked Fox:

“Some people on the internet suggest the way you talk is fake..."
"Julia, is this your normal speaking voice?”

Fox responded:

"I think so, yeah."

But the test operator determined...that was a lie.

"No, she’s lying."

Visibly caught off guard by the outcome of her reply, the actor offered a possible—and sincere—explanation.

"Maybe when I’m nervous, I lean into [being] ditzy, and I feel that it kind of disarms people, and I think a lot of women probably do that."

She continued:

"You know, whether it’s the baby voice or the, like, damsel in distress, it’s kind of a defense mechanism so that I’ll be taken care of."
"I think it’s subconscious, though. I don’t think I even realize when I’m doing it. It just happens."

This time, the lie detector operator responded:

"She’s telling the truth."

Fox was also asked about other celebrities who have been accused of using baby voices and leaning heavily into the vocal fry like "fellow Aquarius queen" Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, with whom Fox shares an ex in Ye.

When questioned further on the latter, Fox offered nothing but kind words.

"I actually really love her."
"I grew up watching ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ and I actually liked it before they were even cool. And when people would, like, bash her, I would always go to bat for her."
"And I thought she f**king killed in 'American Horror Story,' so she is a multitalented queen."

The interviewer also pried about their very similar style choices...

... but the actor took the high road once again.

"There’s been some looks that are a little similar to me, but I feel like, you know, it’s just like, what’s trending. But I don’t know if I’m like on her mood board or anything like that."

Very thoughtful responses, all the way around 👏 👏 👏
