Musk's Bizarre Oval Office Rant About 'Unelected Bureaucrats' Is Total A Self-Own
Feb 12, 2025
Billionaire Elon Musk was mocked after raging against "unelected bureaucrats" during a rant in the Oval Office—apparently oblivious to the fact that he was perfectly describing himself.
Musk, appearing alongside President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday, defended his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accusations that the federal cost-cutting initiative amounts to a "hostile takeover" of the government.
He provided no evidence to support his broad claims that the federal bureaucracy had been infiltrated by dishonest officials who authorized funds for “fraudsters.”
Musk laughed when a reporter asked him about these remarks from his "detractors," responding:
"First of all, you couldn't ask for a stronger mandate from the public. ... The people voted for major government reform and that’s what the people are going to get. They're going to get what they voted for."
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Asked to respond to people who say he's orchestrating a hostile takeover of government, Elon Musk lies that "a majority of the public voted for President Trump"

But he seemed utterly clueless on the subject of "unelected bureaucrats" considering that by any measure, that's exactly what he is:
"If the bureaucracy is in charge, then what meaning does democracy actually have? If the people cannot vote, and have their will be decided by their elected representatives, in the form of the president and the Senate and the House, then we don't live in a democracy, we live in a bureaucracy."
"So, it's incredibly important that we close that feedback loop, we fix that feedback loop, and that the public's elected representatives, the president, the house, and the senate, decide what happens, as opposed to a large, unelected bureaucracy. This is not to say that there aren't some good..."
"There are good people who are in the federal bureaucracy, but you can't have an autonomous federal bureaucracy. You have to have one that is responsive to the people. That's the whole point of a democracy."
Oh, ya think??
You can hear what he said in the video below.
Irony is dead because Musk is an "unelected bureaucrat" himself who hasn't been "responsive to the people" at all.
Musk has gone to great lengths to obscure the operations of DOGE, including his own role in the project. As a "special government employee," Musk's financial disclosure will not be made public, according to the White House.
The DOGE team is estimated to include around 40 members, though the exact number remains unclear. Staffers have actively sought to maintain their anonymity, reportedly refusing to provide their last names to career officials at the agencies where they were assigned.
Musk has also taken steps to prevent DOGE staffers from being identified. When the Wall Street Journal revealed that one 25-year-old staffer, Marko Elez, had made racist posts from an anonymous X account in recent months, Musk demanded the reporter responsible for the story be fired.
While DOGE is technically under the oversight of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Musk has wielded near-unchecked power in his sweeping efforts to reshape the federal government. Some of his actions have even reportedly taken the White House by surprise, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Musk was swiftly called out for his oblivious self-own.
The majority of the public did not know that Elon was going to be raiding government bureaus with teenage bros.

Ummm Trump supposedly won the election but Musk was NOT voted in by the people.

Remember, when Republicans were so eager about the birth certificate of Obama - now nobody seems to care that an African migrant is holding speeches in the Oval Office…

I didn’t think it was possible. Elon Musk is more reprehensible than Trump.

I think everyone is underestimating the mounting fury from Americans for Elon Musk.

Trump, who sat at the Resolute Desk during Musk's rant, said he was signing an executive order to give Musk more power over the federal workforce.
The new order mandates that federal agencies "coordinate and consult" with DOGE to reduce staff and restrict hiring, according to a White House summary. Under the directive, agencies must "undertake plans for large-scale reductions in force" while limiting new hires to only "essential positions," the summary states.
For weeks, Musk has denounced what he describes as waste, fraud, or abuse identified by DOGE, though many of the examples he has shared on social media lack concrete details or have been completely debunked. On Monday, the DOGE account on X announced that the administration had canceled 89 contracts worth $881 million but did not specify what the contracts entailed or why they were deemed wasteful.

Google Blasted After Removing Pride Month And Black History Month From Calendar App
Feb 12, 2025
Google has sparked outrage for dropping from the Google Calendar app cultural observances like Pride Month, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Indigenous Peoples Month.
Additional eliminated events include Jewish Heritage Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The significant changes came after Republican President Donald Trump's series of executive orders reversing "woke" initiatives and anti-discriminatory policies, namely diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, put in place by the former Democratic administration.
But the multinational corporation and tech company, known for its e-commerce, consumer electronics and once-powerful search engine, cited that the ever-increasing list of holiday events was too many to manage, and therefore, not "sustainable."
Google spokesperson Madison Cushman Veld explained the reasons for the changes, stating:
"For over a decade we’ve worked with timeanddate.com to show public holidays and national observances in Google Calendar."
"Some years ago, the Calendar team started manually adding a broader set of cultural moments in a wide number of countries around the world."
Veld continued:
"We got feedback that some other events and countries were missing—and maintaining hundreds of moments manually and consistently globally wasn’t scalable or sustainable."
However, the internet is calling BS.
@Zoomer516/X
One user said that Google's changes were "shameful" and they accused its calendar of being utilized to "capitulate to fascism."
A user on X (formerly Twitter) noted that the only demographic he's witnessing who are happy about the changes are "white people."
Others continued expressing frustration over Google's reversal of progress in cultural representation.
Google also made changes to its geographical labels by renaming the Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of America" for U.S. users to comply with Trump's executive order called "Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness."
@dianelyssa/X
The company defended the change and assured that "People using Maps in the U.S. will see 'Gulf of America,' and people in Mexico will see 'Gulf of Mexico.' Everyone else will see both names."
The spokesperson said that as of mid-2024, Google Calendar has returned to "showing only public holidays and national observances from timeanddate.com globally" and assured that users can manually add "other important moments."
Despite Google's erasure of identity and recognition observed by existing events, people are intent to keep the celebrations alive.
@danidannydanie1/X
Following Trump's executive order, Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered the Department of Justice to investigate companies with DEI initiatives “to end illegal discrimination and preferences.”
Google joins Meta, McDonald's, Walmart, Target, and others that have dropped DEI efforts by wiping mentions of DEI from annual reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission and stopping the hiring of employees from historically underrepresented communities.

Trump Ripped Over His Golden-Hoofed Goat Idol At Mar-A-Lago Covered In Fake Trump Cash
Feb 12, 2025
President Donald Trump was criticized after images circulated of a golden-hooved goat statue at Mar-a-Lago that's covered in cash with the slogan "In Trump we Trust" on it, replacing "God" in the phrase “In God we trust” with Trump.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The statue is mounted on a black base featuring an American flag on one side and bears the inscription "I love you" accompanied by Trump's signature.
You can see it below.

The images reminded some people of the story of the Golden Calf in the Bible, a commentary on those who drift away from faith.
The story begins at the same time as Moses' experience on Mount Sinai, while he was receiving the Ten Commandments.
As impatience grew among the Israelites during Moses’ absence, they sought a new object of worship. They gathered their gold jewelry, melted it down, and crafted a Golden Calf, proclaiming it as their god. God, seeing their betrayal, was prepared to destroy them in his wrath, but Moses pleaded on their behalf.
Descending from the mountain with the stone tablets inscribed by God, Moses witnessed the Israelites celebrating around the Golden Calf. Overcome with anger, he shattered the tablets at the mountain’s base. He then burned the idol, ground it into powder, scattered it over the water, and made the people drink it as a symbol of their wrongdoing.
God instructed Moses to continue leading the Israelites to the promised land of Canaan, where He would meet them again. However, as a consequence of their idolatry, a plague struck the people before their journey resumed.
Considering the way many people have lost themselves to Trump's MAGA cult, many saw significant parallels.
If there's one thing that can be said about this display it's that MAGA Republicans are, as Tim Walz made clear, very weird.

Canadian PM Candidate Proposes Retaliatory Tariffs Targeted At Elon Musk—And People Are So Here For It
Feb 12, 2025
Chrystia Freeland, who resigned last month as Justin Trudeau’s deputy and finance minister and is running to be the next leader of the Liberal Party and prime minister of Canada, proposed "targeted" retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. that would target President Donald Trump's allies, including billionaire Elon Musk.
Freeland has pledged precise and targeted retaliation against the 25 percent tariff Trump has imposed on all steel imports. She warned that if necessary, the country would “inflict the biggest trade blow that the United States has ever endured.” These tariffs would in part target automotive company Tesla—a jab at Musk, who is its CEO.
She said:
"Our retaliation is going to be a lot more surgical than that. We are going to go after American stakeholders who matter to the White House. I have proposed a 100% tariff on all Teslas. I am calling on all the countries that are affected by this tariff to join us, and our retaliation will target specific Trump constituencies.”
You can hear what she said in the video below.
Freeland: Our retaliation is going to be a lot more surgical than that. We are going to go after American stakeholders who matter to The White House. I have proposed a 100% tariff on all Teslas. I am calling on all the countries that are affected by this tariff to join us

— Acyn (@acyn.bsky.social) February 11, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Freeland's comments followed Trump's decision to eliminate exceptions and exemptions from his 2018 steel tariffs, ensuring that all steel imports are now subject to at least a 25 percent tax. Additionally, he increased aluminum tariffs from 10 percent to 25 percent.
Canada, the top supplier of steel to the U.S., has strongly opposed the move. Freeland emphasized that these sweeping tariffs would have widespread consequences, warning Americans that "the tariffs the U.S. is threatening Canada with are across the board, and they're going to hurt you."
Her threat comes as Tesla struggles with declining global sales, hampered by tariffs and Musk's political controversies.
The year began on a challenging note for Tesla, as the company reported its first annual decline in deliveries for 2024. The setbacks continued into January, with troubling signs emerging from key markets.
For instance, in France, Tesla sales plummeted by 63% compared to the previous January, while Germany saw a 59.5% drop in the same period. The decline in Germany, marking Tesla’s weakest January since 2021, comes amid growing backlash against Musk over his support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
Many appreciated Freeland's remarks.
When you stand up for your sovereignty, you are helping us stand up for our democracy. Thank you.

I am starting to root for other countries to punish the USA. Is that bad??

"100% tariff on all Teslas." Excellent idea. Europe should do the same.

Tesla is tanking. I'm all the way in. 100%. See how he likes it
— Linda Palmer (@lindapal.bsky.social) February 11, 2025 at 8:48 PM
I think Freeland makes an important move by making the retaliatory moves in a targeted fashion, so you maximize your impact. And she should know, I think she was an editor at the Financial Times.
— Stewart Tan (@sstan99.bsky.social) February 11, 2025 at 8:54 PM
1000% tariffs on Tesla to send a message.
— Normal American (@trueindependent.bsky.social) February 11, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Last week, Freeland described Trump's actions as a "betrayal," saying his decision to impose tariffs on the U.S.' closest trading partner constitutes "an act of economic warfare.”
Freeland noted that Canadians are "already" boycotting American goods in response. She said that "the path the U.S. is on right now is a lose-lose path and at the end of the day, you cannot defy the laws of economics."

Stephen Miller Epically Trolled After Tweet Asking About 'New Golden Age' Under Trump
Feb 12, 2025
White House Deputy Chief of Staff and white nationalist weirdo Stephen Miller has gotten quite a bit of blowback for a recent tweet on X.
In this post, which is so delusional it must be a troll, Miller asked X users if they are enjoying "America's new Golden Age" now that Donald Trump is re-elected.
The answer is, of course, no we are not! And increasingly, if you take a trip through social media, that includes many of the President's own supporters.
TikTok in particular is full of Trump voters now in shock at what the President has been doing and worried about how his legislative moves will impact them.
There are so many, in fact, that an entire hashtag—#LeavingMAGA—has arisen in response. (Of course, a good time to think about all this would have been before voting, of course. But hey, life comes at you fast.)
Anyway, when the bloom is off the rose even among many MAGA diehards, you know a tide has turned. And the responses to Miller's ridiculous tweet were a compendium of reasons why this is not only not a Golden Age, but why people like Miller should probably be a lot more worried about public opinion than he appears to be.
Many mentioned the constant topic of the price of eggs, which have soared since Trump took office—though in fairness, that's partially due to the bird flu crisis his administration has essentially forbidden government agencies like the CDC from addressing.
Others cited how it sure feels like it's completely unsafe to board a plane now.
And many had an entire list of reasons they're not vibing with this "Golden Age."
Anyway, Miller surely thinks all this outrage is hilarious.
But he and his colleagues really should take a gander at all those MAGA-heads on social media who now have buyer's remorse, because sea changes like that don't tend to go very well for people in power, historically speaking!
"Pride cometh before a fall," as the old saying goes. Keep on laughing, boys.
