It tastes funny.

With an overwhelming number of options to choose from, making a decision on which post-gym energy bar to buy is as challenging as the workout itself. It doesn't help when someone creates a fake nutrition bar as a joke to throw into the mix.

One Twitter-user posted a picture of a bogus RXBAR; but instead of earning grunts, it elicited giggles from the Internet.

Bridger Winegar poked fun at the RXBAR, which offers potential consumers full transparency by prominently listing the ingredients on the front of the bar's wrapper.

According to its website, RXBAR offers the finest ingredients fit for a healthy snack.

We don't claim to be a prescription for anything. But we do promise to give you clean food you can count on. We're upfront and honest about everything we do, from the inside out.
Yes, we make protein bars. But really, we're in the egg business, and the date business, and the nut business. You get the idea. We keep things simple so the core ingredients are everything. We take a hands-on approach to ensure each and every product we put our name on lives up to our high standards for taste, quality, and nutrition.

Examples include the "Chocolate Sea Salt" bar, which purports to include: 3 Egg Whites, 6 Almonds, 4 Cashews, 2 Dates, No B.S."

For you peanut butter fans, there's the "Peanut Butter Chocolate" bar. According to the package, this item has "3 Egg Whites, 14 Peanuts, 2 Dates, No B.S."

Notice a pattern? The products claim to offer no-nonsense nutritional delights.

Bridger Winegar decided to riff on RXBAR's packaging by creating a unique bar that includes: "3 Egg Whites, 6 Almonds, 73 Cashews, a Feather, 2 Miniature Brooms, and 1 Extension Cord."

And it's all B.S.

One person seemed confused about the authenticity about the product.

Others played along.

Even RXBAR was a good sport and got in on the joke.

Fitful Focus attempted to duplicate the energy bars based on the purported ingredients.

It ended up not being quite as simple as I hoped it would be to recreate this recipe, but after a little trial and error playing with ingredient amounts, I think I hit the nail on the head.

You could try out the recipe HERE.

The "No B.S." on the packaging really refers to the bars' lack of sugar, dairy, soy, and gluten.

There are also no artificial colors, artificial flavors, preservatives or fillers in our whole food protein bars. That's because we only make room for the good stuff.
