President Donald Trump tested positive on Thursday for the virus that's killed over 200 thousand Americans.
On Friday, he was helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center to undergo treatment, where he received supplemental oxygen and the drug dexamethasone, which the World Health Organization recommends only to those experiencing severe symptoms.
Inexplicably, Trump announced that he'd be discharged from Walter Reed on Monday evening. This came after a weekend marked by Trump endangering Secret Service agents to wave at his supporters from a hermetically sealed car.
But being outside the hospital doesn't mean the President is out of the woods, or that things will return to normal.
According to reporting from Vanity Fair, the President's oldest son and most vocal defender—Donald Trump Jr.—is seeking to stage an intervention for the President, whom he believes is "acting crazy" amidst the diagnosis.
Citing anonymous sources, Trump Jr. has reportedly told his friends that he's urging Trump's daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump, as well as her husband and fellow White House advisor Jared Kushner to ally with him in confronting the President about his behavior.
The source reportedly said:
"Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he's doing. Don said, 'I'm not going to be the only one to tell him he's acting crazy.'"
The news garnered reactions across the internet.
So they're enablers? I guess because they can see the gravy-train leaving the station, but it's gonna happen one way or the other, so wouldn't you want your father around for another decade or so? Ask the families of the 210k who have perished.#COVIDIOTS https://t.co/Ka15ERPacR

Wait ... *Donald Trump Jr.* is the one playing Cordelia in this version of KING LEAR? https://t.co/eAY5Wqn5cN

The drugs Trump is on are known for causing erratic behavior. AND for creating a false sense of well-being. Just Sunday Trump had drops in his oxygen levels and he had a high fever on Friday. #COVID19 is unpredictable and flares up days after one feels better. (Also it's rein.) https://t.co/Hxz0htldST

They didn't let up.
Separating immigrant families & children. Praising dictators. Inciting & supporting white supremacist violence. Undermining COVID response for political gain. Lying to suppress vote. Committing international crimes to steal the election. But this is what requires an intervention? https://t.co/CjDG2P9PPR

When Don Jr. thinks you're acting like a whack-job, it's time to worry. #25thAmendment https://t.co/PCn4UZmMDk

If this reporting is accurate, then talk of the 25th Amendment on a temporary basis needs to be taken much more seriously. https://t.co/lNzZqNMJiE
