The singer recalled meeting gay men for the first time when she was nine, saying it was 'love at first sight,' while thanking her LGBTQ+ fans for standing by her through the ups and downs of her career.

It's not a secret how much the LGBTQ+ community—and especially gay men—adore the singer Cher.

The affection is mutual, as the singer confirmed in a speech given at a re-opening event at The Abbey in West Hollywood recently.

The event—which was star studded with celebrities who are members of or beloved by the Los Angeles LGBTQ+ community—featured Cher as well as a pop-up event for her "Cherlato" gelato line.

In her speech, she thanked gay men for always being there for her, and then recounted a funny anecdote about the first time she ever saw a gay man. Cher was about 9 years old and met some gay men who were visiting her mother and immediately was smitten.

The Oscar winner recounted:

"But I thought, ‘Wait a minute… Why aren’t the other guys as funny as these guys?’."
"It really was love at first sight."

You can watch the moment here.

Some people were so overcome by the story they could only express themselves in emojiis.

Others named Cher a treasure.

Some folks just wanted to talk about the party at The Abbey.

Another person chimed in with how much Cher meant to them and their gay daughter.

Many, many folks were having a real case of envy for anyone lucky enough to be in attendance.

Someone shared a story about Cher's long history with the gay community.

And as always, whenever a singer appears in public, people wanted to know when the next album would drop.

Cherlato is for now only available from the Cherlato truck in the Los Angeles area in future pop-ups.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
