CNN Host Rips Fox News Doctor For Touting Trump's Baseless Theory That Biden Is On Drugs

CNN Host Rips Fox News Doctor For Touting Trump's Baseless Theory That Biden Is On Drugs
CNN // Fox News

Presidential election campaigns have always brought out some of the basest characteristics of the American populace, but with President Donald Trump fighting for a second term, you can bet things will get even nastier.

Trump and his supporters have repeatedly made wild and baseless claims regarding Democratic nominee Joe Biden's mental acuity, which Biden has countered with speeches and other appearances in a number of swing states.

In response, the President and his followers have since accused Biden of over-relying on teleprompters and even taking drugs.

Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Seigel appeared on Tucker Carlson and propped up Trump's baseless claim that Biden takes performance-enhancing drugs.

Seigel said:

"There's a study that shows that for people who have mild cognitive thinking or memory problems, you know what helps? Speed. You know what helps? Adderall, a drug that I prescribe. These drugs can help in low doses for short periods of time. Now look, in the Olympics, we're testing athletes. Baseball games, we don't want anybody to juice. We're looking for competitive advantage."

In a larger segment about the Trump campaign's lies, CNN anchor Brianna Keilar called out Seigel's legitimization of the conspiracy theory—as well as the network that aired it.

Keilar said:

"[Dr. Seigel] is supposed to be a doctor and he's talking about speed and drug tests? Seigel is paid actual money by a network with the word "news" in its title, not to help spread the word about keeping people safe in a pandemic or to correct the anti-science rhetoric of the Trump administration that has cost lives, but to weaponize his medical credentials against a presidential candidate."

Keilar went on to emphasize a clip of Seigel admitting to Tucker Carlson that he doesn't have and can't make an official diagnosis of Biden's mental state.

Keilar wasn't the only one who was stunned at Seigel's words.

And Trump's accusation that Biden was on drugs was met with the same reaction.

The first presidential debate is September 29.

People Break Down The 'Silent Red Flags' Folks Tend To Ignore In Relationships

A red flag has come to mean any warning sign in life, in addition to the literal red flags that are placed on beaches or industrial sites to warn people of danger.

People will respond to situations by saying, "That’s a red flag." But before that language evolved, they'd just call them "warning signs."

Trump has declined to clarify whether the U.S. is edging closer to launching strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, following a warning from Iran’s supreme leader against any attack and a rejection of Trump’s demand for surrender.
