Bernie Sanders Accidentally Walked Into TikToker's Dance Video—And His Reaction Is Peak Bernie

The Vermont Senator had his signature grumpy look after stumbling into Taylor Champ's video.

Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders had social media users cackling with his signature grumpy reaction after he accidentally walked into a TikToker's dance video.

TikToker Taylor Champ was dancing on a New York City street at the same time that Sanders was in town to promote his latest book, It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism.


The video shows Champ dancing with a hotel doorman only for Sanders to emerge from the building adjacent to them and realize what's going on.

The famously cantankerous Senator grimaced for a moment—just a moment—before heading on his way but that was more than enough for the video to go viral.

You can see it below.

Afterward, Champ gave a sarcastic "apology" to Sanders for getting in his way:

“Hi, Bernie Sanders. I wanna apologize."
"I saw the doorman actually had a TikTok where he was tagging the place. I was like, ‘Oh dope. Maybe I’ll just make one with him. I’m about to check out.’"
"The very moment I walk outside, I set it up. This whole trip, nothing happens.” ...
"[I got] in the way of Bernie Sanders’ walking space… It’ll never happen again.”

Social media users loved every minute of the chance encounter though and couldn't help but laugh.



It's OK to Be Angry About Capitalism has been described as a "progressive takedown of the uber-capitalist status quo that has enriched millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the working class."

Sanders has been on a national tour to promote the book, appearing for interviews with publications as diverse as the New York Times, The Guardian, and NPR.

"They say the older you get, the more conservative you become," writes Sanders in his book, adding that in his case, the opposite is true, because the older he gets, "the angrier [he] become[s] about the uber-capitalist system."
