Director Kevin Smith, who also plays the quieter half of the titular Jay and Silent Bob, just announced another actor who will be joining the cast of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which is due to be released sometime later this year.

In an Instagram post, Smith cited his sometimes tendency to cast lesser-known actors in his films. This particular actor, however, is far from unknown.

Smith touted the actor's potential in his post:

"Sometimes I like to highlight unknown actors in our industry – and I think *this* fresh face from young Hollywood might soon find fame and fortune on the Silver Screen!"

We think he might be on to something here; the actor in question is none other than Chris Hemsworth, whom you might have heard of for his recurring role as Thor in the MCU.

Smith's jesting didn't end there though: his whole post is full of Thor and MCU puns.

"The boy is like a god who thundered down from another universe! But it's not some kinda dark world because this guy is no black hat – he's an artistic avenger who's just looking to book his first gig on the way to his ultimate endgame: a S.A.G. card!"
"So I'm gonna take a chance on this up and coming charismatic kid from Australia and help him out on his star trek with a low key role in @jayandsilentbob Reboot. He's a killer comedic actor but I keep telling him that the *real* money's in @marvelstudios movies."
"In a just world, he'd get to at least screen test for them. Regardless, I'll keep you posted on Chris' Hollywood progress."
"He should go far, because Chris is a super nice charmer who's crazy talented and incredibly generous with his time. If you can get past the guy's unorthodox looks, you'll find a whole Hems worth of raw, untapped talent!"

Hemsworth also posted a series of photos with Smith to his Instagram, and they get sillier and more adorable as you flip through them.

Jason Mewes, the definitely-not-silent half of Jay and Silent Bob, wasn't there for Smith and Hemsworth's photoshoot, and voiced his disappointment in the comments.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Jay and Silent Bob or not, it's starting to look like the film will be worth seeing just for the cameos!

There is still no official release date yet, but Smith posted on Twitter yesterday that he just finished editing his first cut of the film, so it's only a matter of time.

U.S. UFC Star Threatens Canada For Booing Anthem—Then Gets His A** Handed To Him

UFC fighter Charles Radtke was widely mocked online after talking trash about Canada before his bout with Canadian fighter Mike Malott—only to be soundly defeated by Malott in the second round.

Radtke leaned into the role of the villain leading up to the fight, invoking President Donald Trump’s talk of annexing Canada as the “51st state” and saying he was seeking revenge for Canadian hockey fans recently booing the U.S. national anthem.

High School Group Asks MAGA Rep. Why Trump Looks 'So Orange'—And His Answer Is Awkward AF

Things sure got awkward for Georgia Republican Representative Brian Jack after a group of students asked him during a Q&A session why President Donald Trump is "so orange."

People can only speculate what brand of makeup or bronzer Trump uses on a daily basis but there's a reason why he's been nicknamed "the orange man," "Agent Orange," and even "Mango Mussolini"—the color of his face is really, really hard to miss given he's photographed all the time.

Transportation Secretary Slammed After Admitting He Made A Telling Switch To Wife's Recent Flight

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was criticized after admitting in a recent audio clip that he'd just switched his wife's Newark Liberty International Airport flight to one out of LaGuardia Airport—despite previously claiming his family flies out of Newark Airport "all the time."

Duffy’s remarks came as staffing shortages caused major flight disruptions at Newark on Monday, with the F.A.A. forced to delay incoming flights from across the continental U.S. and parts of Canada. According to an online advisory, delays averaged over 1 hour and 40 minutes and in some cases stretched to nearly seven hours.
