Americans across the United States were outraged this past week when law enforcement officers unleashed tear gas, flashbangs, rubber bullets, and other weaponry on people outside the White House peacefully protesting the murder of George Floyd by police.
It was later revealed that this order came from Attorney General William Barr.
Minutes after the officers had forcefully cleared the crowd, President Donald Trump walked across the newly empty space to take a picture with a bible in front of Saint John's Episcopal Church.
It certainly looked like the White House ordered force be used against peaceful protestors in order to clear a path for the President's photo-op.
According to Reuters DC reporter Brad Heath, Barr assured that this wasn't the case.
People were understandably skeptical.
Among those skeptics was Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), who invited William Barr to testify under oath that the order to gas protestors had nothing to do with the President's walk to Saint John's.
Senator Harris famously grilled Barr over his handling of the Mueller Report during his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee last year.

Barr couldn't answer whether or not the White House had ordered him to open an investigation into anyone.
People were eager to see the rematch.
Then again, many people think Barr has no problem lying under oath.
Hey, it's worth a try.
