Tom Cruise Sent Michael Bay One Of His Famous Holiday Cakes—And It Was A Complete Disaster

The 'Transformers' director showed what remained of the cake that had been sent via FedEx in a hilarious Instagram video.

Every year, A-lister Tom Cruise sends his Hollywood colleagues a cake as part of his holiday tradition.

The reportedly very delectable cake is usually a white chocolate coconut bundt cake from Doan's Bakery in Woodland Hills, California.

According to Delish, recipients of this holiday cake have been the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Angela Bassett, John Hamm and Kirsten Dunst.

But one recipient failed to receive the cake the way it was intended to look after unboxing it.

In fact, it was a total disaster.

That unfortunate cake recipient was director Michael Bay, who has been receiving them from Cruise annually for the last 20-some years.

The Transformers director ribbed the action star by putting him on blast in a demonstration video on Instagram.

Bay captioned the first of two videos with:

"Famous Actor sends every XMAS. Wait for it. Sad update coming
.."

The video showed a mysterious FedEx package on a table in the kitchen.

Bay said before cutting open the box with a knife:

"I think I know what it is. I've been getting this for 20 years."

Little did he know of the mess that was in store for him.

He removed the present from the FedEx box and showed the gift tag, which read:

"To: Michael Bay. Warmest wishes to you this holiday season. – Tom Cruise."

"It's a Tom Cruise cake," Bay informed viewers.

The ribbon around the box contained lots of glitter, which, in spite of its festive aesthetic, did not please Bay because of the mess it made.

"Tom, you got glitter all over my table. I gotta vacuum that sh*t off right now," he quipped.

"Thank you Tom, though."

The abundance of glitter would be the least of his problems.

Bay said his gift from Cruise is usually carrot cake and noted how the package appeared to have been X-rayed.

"Is that safe to eat if you check that out?" he remarked at the end.

In the second clip that showed the mushy mess, he wrote in the caption:

"Tom Cruise Cake update. Part 2. Fed Ex hello we have a problem."

Bay revealed what looked like a baked good completely annihilated en route and it wasn't a scene from any of his action-packed blockbusters.

Bay asked:

"What the effin' hell happened to this cake?"
"What is going on here? Tom, does that happen to everyone you send this to?"

He continued:

"I'm really sorry but it looks like doughnuts here. It was a cake, apparently, supposedly."
"But it melted. Maybe under an X-ray."

Or something like that.

This year, both Cruise and Bay released films in the shared genre of action flicks.

Cruise reprised his starring role as the naval aviator Maverick in the critically-acclaimed Top Gun: Maverick, which many agreed was superior to the 1986 film, Top Gun.

Bay directed and produced the action thriller, Ambulance, based on the 2005 Danish film of the same name in which two adoptive siblings-turned-bank robbers hijack an ambulance and take two first responders hostage.

Cruise and Bay have no collaborations planned in the near future.

Bay previously admitted to AP News he preferred a different approach to doing stunts than Cruise–which could explain why the two haven't worked together despite engaging in their sweet holiday tradition.

In 2017, Bay told the media outlet:

“We’ve talked about it. But I told Tom to his face ... I said, ‘Tom, I know you rehearse your stunts over and over, but I like sloppy stunts.’ "
"So that would be the rub working with us - I wouldn’t let him rehearse as much."
“I like my stunts to be dirty and messy, and not so ... [he sings the Mission: Impossible theme]."
"Look, with ‘Mission: Impossible’ I understand you need very choreographed stunts, but I like dirty, sloppy stunts.”

Unlike his stunt preference, however, Bay appreciates his holiday cakes from Tom being not so sloppy.

At least it was the thought that counts.

Seth Meyers Responds To Trump's 'Truly Deranged' Personal Attack Against Him With Hilarious Takedown

After President Donald Trump lashed out at late-night host Seth Meyers on Truth Social over the weekend and called him a "truly deranged lunatic," Meyers responded to Trump’s “ranting and raving” about him with a damning supercut on his program.

Trump apparently tuned in to Thursday night’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, where Meyers poked fun at the president’s complaints about Navy aircraft carriers using electromagnetic catapults instead of traditional steam-powered ones. Meyers joked that Trump "spends more time thinking about catapults than Wile E. Coyote."

Girl's Hilarious Reaction To Getting Divisive Candy For Halloween Caught On Doorbell Cam

In the '80s and '90s, kids were raised with the understanding that they got what they got, and they should say, "Thank you," for what they received. This was true for birthdays, holidays, and trick-or-treating on Halloween, even if they got candy they wanted to throw away the instant they turned the corner.

But kids today are much more communicative about what they like and don't like, and they can be brutal in their bluntness.

MTG Just Admitted The Awkward Truth About The Republican Healthcare Plan On 'The View'

Speaking on The View, Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke about sparring with House Speaker Mike Johnson over healthcare—and revealed that the GOP does not have any replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) despite what Johnson and her fellow congressional conservatives tell the public.

Democrats have continued to reject Republicans’ proposed continuing resolution to keep the government open without considering an extension of the premium tax credit that helps subsidize health insurance for people earning between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level.

People Share The Best Ways To Shut Down A Debate With A Flat Earther Family Member

The Flat Earth conspiracy theory is strictly a modern online movement, rumored to have begun as a prank, that gained momentum among people who mistrust authority through the power of social media.

There is a persistent myth that Europeans in the Middle Ages believed the Earth was flat. But that is a 19th-century fabrication to sell Columbus Day, not historical reality.
