Tarantino made the 'inglorious' revelation on Bill Maher's podcast 'Club Random.'

Rumors Quentin Tarantino planned the Inglorious Basterds role of Sgt. Donny Donowitz (aka. "The Bear Jew") for Adam Sandler were confirmed by the director.

Tarantino talked to Bill Maher on his podcast Club Random with Bill Maher about his intentions when writing the character and the reason why Sandler didn't ultimately end up playing the part.

Tarantino told Maher about Sandler's sheer excitement for the part:

"I wrote the Bear Jew for Adam Sandler. When I was doing Little Nicky, he’s telling me like, ‘Oh man, I get to f**king beat up Nazis with a bat? F**king script! F**king awesome! I can’t fu*cking wait! I can’t f*cking wait!'"
"He was like telling every Jewish guy, 'I’m going to f*cking play this guy who beats up Nazis with a f*cking bat'."

The world apparently wasn't going to cooperate with Tarantino's plans, though. As luck would have it, by the time Tarantino was ready to start filming for Inglorious Basterds, Judd Apatow was filming Funny People and Sandler was unavailable.

He told Maher:

"Here’s the problem. He [Judd] wrapped up all the good Jews [to be in Funny People]. That was the problem. Seth Rogen and all the good Jews were doing ‘Funny People'."
"I’m killing Hitler with baseball bats and there’s no good Jews available! David Krumholtz, nobody! All the good Jews were all wrapped up! I’m doing the Jewish male fantasy!"

Twitter was abuzz with speculation about how Sandler would have been in the role.

Some were excited at the prospect...

...while others were decidedly not.

The world will never know how different of a movie Inglorious Basterds would have been if Sandler had been in it, but everyone can definitely speculate.

Jesse Watters Dragged After Spouting Ridiculous Theory About Why Critics 'Never' Call Trump 'Dumb'

Fox News personality Jesse Watters was dragged after he offered the ridiculous theory that critics "never" call President Donald Trump "dumb"—even after all of the criticism Trump has received for outrageous and uninformed remarks he made at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Trump "appeared to mix up Greenland and Iceland around three times" during his rambling speech to the world elite, per one reporter, a claim that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt flatly denied. He also claimed Europeans call him "daddy"—what?—and said the Swiss, who already largely speak German, would be speaking German were it not for the U.S.

Gen Z Sparks Debate After Deciding Which Common Millennial Name Is The New 'Karen'

We've all heard the name popularly assigned to women who are a nuisance in public, make a scene, demand to see the manager, and absolutely refuse to accept responsibility for anything: Karen.

Since around 2018, when the name was established as an insult, thousands of videos have gone viral that feature angry women in coffee shops, disgruntled that they have to wait in line, women refusing to wear a mask during the pandemic, women making racist and derogatory comments to people of color in public spaces, and much more.

Ramos is the fourth student from the Columbia Heights School District to be swept up in the Trump administration's nationwide immigration crackdown. District officials and a family attorney confirmed the boy and his father are in custody at an ICE facility in Texas.

Karoline Leavitt Gives Bonkers Excuse After Trump Is Spotted With Massive Bruise On His Left Hand

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was called out after she gave a dubious excuse for what happened to President Donald Trump after he was spotted at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday with a large bruise on his left hand.

Last year, rumors swirled that Trump was on his deathbed after he wasn't seen for several days and the White House cancelled his public appearances, a development that fueled speculation in large part because of Trump's recent health problems, which include a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency and sightings of a harsh bruise on his right hand.
