Though the stage was where I once thrived, I admit there were times when an eight-show work week schedule was an artistic challenge.

I never took any of my lucky breaks for granted and I made sure to give it my all in every show I've been in once the stage manager called – "places!"

But the words from an associate director resonated with me when he collectively noticed the cast was starting to lose their "shine" long after opening night.

He told us:

"Someone in the audience tonight will experience their first theatrical experience, and your performance will forever leave them inspired. But also keep in mind that tonight's performance might also be someone's last time in a theater."

Word.

Wondering how others have been influenced by sage words, Redditor "Nicholasbacardi" asked:

"What is the wisest thing you were ever told ?"

Social Etiquette

"If you are telling a story that gets interrupted, if the person you were telling asks you to continue, go for it, otherwise, they don't care."

The City Of Minneapolis Just Got Nominated For A Nobel Peace Prize—And Everyone's Thinking The Same Thing

President Donald Trump isn't going to be happy to know that the editors of The Nation have nominated the city of Minneapolis and its residents for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing the city's response to Trump's immigration crackdown that has captured the nation's attention since the murders of Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE agents.
