In an incredibly tense moment caught on video, a group of strangers came together to rescue a man trapped in a burning car in Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Police told People that the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. along I-94 in St. Paul when a Honda drifted to the right of the highway, veering off the road and hitting a light pole before bursting into flames.

Footage shows multiple cars pulling over to the side of the road and bystanders running to the car, already engulfed in flames, in an attempt to free the driver.

The driver side door, however, was blocked by a guardrail.

One of the Good Samaritans, Kadir Tolla, told Fox 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul that the driver was screaming for help, yelling, "Pull me out! Pull me out!"

As flames grew higher, more bystanders attempted to break the driver side window with no success until "highway helper" 71-year-old St. Paul resident Samuel Orbovich was able to break the glass.

The driver was then pulled from the burning car and carried to safety.
