Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is currently embroiled in a new controversy after an Inspector General who was investigating Pompeo was fired by the Trump administration.

The IG was investigating complaints that Pompeo was ordering low-level government officials to perform personal tasks for him, such as walking his dog and other domestic chores.

President Donald Trump attempted to justify Pompeo's alleged actions when facing questions by reporters, but he only made things worse.

Watch below.

Trump said:

"Now I have you telling me about dog walking, washing dishes, and you know what I'd rather have [Pompeo] on the phone with some world leader than have him wash dishes because maybe his wife isn't there, or his kids aren't, y'know, what're you telling me? It's terrible. It's so stupid."

Trump's speculation that Pompeo would only ask his staff to wash dishes if his wife wasn't there led many people to think Trump was indicating a belief that women are inherently more suited for domestic duties than men.

People began calling him out.

It's easy to see why Trump is tanking with women voters.

If Pompeo can't do his own dishes, maybe he can use some of his six figure salary to hire a cleaner.
