Hundreds of pro-Trump extremists have been arrested in connection to the Capitol Riots of January 6, when—motivated by the former President's lies—they stormed the United States Capitol, beating police officers and ransacking the building, in a deadly failed insurrection to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.
Unsurprisingly, a large portion of these people were radicalized by online conspiracy theorists and right-wing media personalities like MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, who continues to absurdly peddle lies that the 2020 election was "stolen" from Trump.
Lindell most recently pushed his nonsense at a widely ridiculed cyber symposium, where once again he came up short on his promise to finally deliver irrefutable evidence of his election fantasies.
While the symposium led to humiliation for Lindell, it's now led to jail time for one of the rioters.
After initially being released from jail, suspect Doug Jensen was ordered back after breaking the conditions of his release, which required that he not delve further into online conspiracy theorist content.
Jensen was released after his lawyer assured that Jensen acknowledged he'd been swept up by "a pack of lies" that prompted him to join others in storming the Capitol.
District Judge Timothy Kelly, who was appointed by Trump in 2017, ordered Jensen back into custody, decreeing:
"[I]t's now clear that he has not experienced the transformation that his lawyer previously described, and that he continues to seek out the conspiracy theories that led to his dangerous conduct on January 6. I don't see any reason to believe that he has had the wake-up call that he needs."
The ruling made waves on social media, with users finding it pathetic that Jensen gambled with his freedom to hear Mike Lindell's delusions.
