Meghan McCain Bursts into Laughter After Trump-Loving Congressman Says Trump Should Pardon Roger Stone

Meghan McCain Bursts into Laughter After Trump-Loving Congressman Says Trump Should Pardon Roger Stone
ABC/The View

President Donald Trump has made no effort to keep his thoughts on the trial of his former advisor, Roger Stone, a secret.

Stone was convicted of lying to Congress, obstructing justice, and threatening a witness last year. When prosecutors recommended a seven to nine year prison sentence, Trump fumed on Twitter and the Justice Department subsequently overrode the opinion of its prosecutors, who resigned in response.

Today, Stone was sentenced to 40 months in prison for his crimes, leading everyone to ask: Will Trump pardon one of his most vocal allies?

The vocal Trump-supporting Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was asked that question on The View, and his answer flabbergasted even Conservative co-host Meghan McCain.

Watch below.

Gaetz said that Trump should, in fact, pardon Stone, to which McCain responded through laughter:

"Oh, come on, Congressman. Come on. Come on, he's the swampiest swamp creature!"

Gaetz went on to mention people pardoned by Clinton in the 90s and then railed against the double standard to which he believes Stone's been held.

This week Trump pardoned or commuted the sentences of 11 felons, including former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, leading some to believe that he's likely to pardon Stone as well, despite the cringeworthy optics.

Speaking of cringeworthy, people didn't take warmly to Gaetz's appearance on The View.

Like Roger Stone, Gaetz has had his own problems with intimidating witnesses in the past.

Stephen Colbert Makes Somber Plea To Americans In Wake Of Charlie Kirk's Death

Late-night host Stephen Colbert had a somber message for Americans as he addressed the assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, stressing that "political violence only leads to more political violence."

Kirk died after an unidentified gunman shot him in the neck as he—ironically enough—mocked victims of gun violence at an event in Utah Valley State University. Kirk's murder has galvanized the far-right, with President Donald Trump and his surrogates claiming without evidence that rhetoric from Democrats is responsible for Kirk's death.

TikToker Hilariously Calls Out Target After Champion Pants Feature Awkwardly-Placed Front Pleat

Sometimes you can just tell when something was designed *for* women, but was not actually designed *by* women.

Take, for instance, the new pleated pants available at Target from the Champion clothing line. While there's nothing wrong with pleated pants and they certainly have a suitable spot in the workplace, the latest rendition of Champion pleated pants are, shall we say, NSFW.

Woman Goes Viral After Revealing How Her Obsession With Matcha Landed Her In The Hospital

Let's be honest: Too much of anything isn't good for us. It's all about the balance!

But the media and social media trends have taught us that certain things are really good for us, encouraging us to be like the "very mindful and very demure" girls and take care of ourselves. One such example is drinking more matcha, especially if you really like coffee or think you have a caffeine addiction.
