Kimberly-Clark, has issued a recall on their tampons U by Kotex as complaints come in the product is unraveling and falling apart when used.
On their website U by Kotex issued the following statement regarding the voluntary recall:
"Kimberly-Clark has received reports from consumers of the U by Kotex® Sleek® Tampons, Regular Absorbency, unraveling and/or coming apart upon removal, and in some cases causing users to seek medical attention to remove tampon pieces left in the body. There also have been a small number of reports of infections, vaginal irritation, localized vaginal injury, and other symptoms."
They also are providing a lot number checker for anyone to check the product to see if what they have purchased is part of the recall.
People on social media were helping to get the word out in the U.S. and Canada.
