People Share True Facts About Themselves That Sound Like A Lie

Make us preferred on Google

Truth is stranger than fiction and some people live wilder lives than others.

Whether the government forgot you exist or you successfully ran from home or even if you did neither of those things but somehow had something intriguing happen to you all the same, there's a place for you.

Don't believe me? You can thank Redditor JRStod, who asked the online community,

"What's a true fact about you that sounds like a lie?"

"For a brief moment..."

For a brief moment in my life, while I was in kindergarten, I technically didn't exist as a person to the government.

legendaryboomer

That's crazy. How was this resolved? What did your parents have to do?

"I was adopted..."

I was adopted as a baby via a closed adoption. Closed adoption means there is no way for me to find out who my bio parents are and no way for them to find out who I am. I still ended up meeting my bio mom all because I bent over to pet a cat.

PeopleAreIrksome

Say what?! You can't just leave us hanging like this.

"I am..."

I am a successful runaway. I left home at 15.

PhantomSpaceman13

It sounds like you're better off wherever you are now.

"Yup."

My lung collapsed for no reason other than I'm a tall, thin, white male who is between the ages of 20 and 40.

Yup. Sometimes doctors give you the wildest explanations.

WipeHypeGaming

Wow!

Random, scary, but it sounds like you made it through okay, which is good!

"I am missing..."

I am missing the index finger on my left hand because it was bitten off by a 7ft tall black bear when I was 7 years old.

mreguy81

That is pretty scary. You're lucky that's all that happened.

"When I was a kid..."

When I was a kid I was kidnapped by a neighbour and locked in a wardrobe. The kidnapper was a mother to a kid in my class at school, and she said she didn't want him and she was going to keep me instead. Neighbours saw her grab me and called the police. She's now in prison after stabbing and killing a police officer through the heart with a kitchen knife.

This is a crazy story and sadly things like this happen – thankfully you are safe!

"That's what the dentists all called it."

Giphy

As a kid I had a ghost tooth.

That's what the dentists all called it. It was an adult tooth that was growing in with no enamel, so in the x-rays it looked ghost like.

ButterPuds

There's a good horror movie plot somewhere... we just need some inspiration.

"I can't properly..."

I can't properly use my left hand at all, so when I eat with knife and a fork, after cutting something, I have to switch and put the fork in my right hand to actually put the food in my mouth.

emina46

Sounds like you've made it work in spite of the obstacle!

"Despite the resulting dissonance..."

Despite the resulting dissonance, I can play scales in any two keys on the piano at the same time over 5 octaves with the exact fingering in each hand.

Back2Bach

Pretty cool skill! You must be a hit at parties.

"After the war..."

My great-grandfather served on the wrong side during World War II in Germany. He wasn't a Nazi per se, but he did run a Polish POW camp. My grandmother was a little girl at the time and she befriended a lot of the soldiers there.

After the war, during the winter time, he was called in to shovel snow off the train tracks because his coworker was drunk. He was struck and killed by a train.

I don't think "per se" cuts it for most people...

It never hurts to do a quick Google search on any new facts you come across in this day in age. Even Snapple cap facts.

Jon Ossoff Rips Trump During Speech With Brutal Dig About His Problematic Relationship With Fawning Young Aide

Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff took aim at President Donald Trump's problematic relationship with his young aide Natalie Harp during a campaign speech on Sunday.

Last month, Trump reportedly took extraordinary security precautions during a trip to Turkey, secretly switching from Air Force One to a military aircraft after an alleged threat. Although he was publicly seen boarding the presidential jet, he was later transported to the military plane concealed inside a catering truck.

Trump Just Threatened To 'Bomb The Sh*t Out Of' Oman—And Even Fox News Is Flabbergasted

Even Fox News is stunned after President Donald Trump threatened to "bomb the sh*t out of" Oman if the country "gets in the way" of talks between the U.S. and Iran.

Trump’s remarks came amid stalled U.S.-Iran negotiations and separate talks between Iran and Oman over how commercial shipping could resume through the Strait of Hormuz. Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported that Trump warned the U.S. would attack Oman if it interfered with American efforts, though Fox did not release audio of the interview.

MAGA Rally Crowd Applauds After Trump Says He'll 'Never Apologize' For Higher Gas Prices In Surreal Viral Video

President Donald Trump was met with applause from supporters in a surreal moment at a MAGA rally on Long Island, New York, after he told attendees he'd "never apologize" for higher gas costs due to his war with Iran.

A recent Gallup poll found that 55 percent of respondents felt their finances were worsening, a level of pessimism exceeding that seen during both the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2008 financial crisis. This comes as the highly unpopular war in Iran continues to rage, sending gas prices surging. Americans have spent an additional $59 billion on fuel since Trump launched the war.
