Boebert Slams Biden For Hurting Afghanistan With Withdrawal—But Her Voting Record Speaks For Itself

Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert and her voting record are facing heavy scrutiny after she criticized President Joe Biden for withdrawing from Afghanistan.

In her criticism of Biden, Boebert evoked the memory of the American withdrawal from Vietnam when the North Vietnamese took Saigon in 1975.

Boebert wrote:

"Joe Biden was in the Senate when America pulled out of Saigon in 1975. He didn't learn."

However, many were quick to point out that Boebert's record on Afghanistan has not been supportive, let alone altruistic.

Last month, Boebert was among the lawmakers who voted against H.R. 3985, the Averting Loss of Life and Injury by Expediting SIVs Act of 2021.

The legislation, otherwise referred to as the ALLIES Act, passed the House by a vote of 407-16. It was the brainchild of Democratic Representative Jason Crow, a fellow Coloradan.

Crow, who served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, sponsored the bill, which increases the number of immigration visas available to Afghan citizens who have helped U.S. soldiers during the 20-year conflict.

He was also among Boebert's top critics after she issued another tweet criticizing President Biden's "foreign policy decisions."

Crow wrote:

"A few weeks ago you were 1 of only 16 members of Congress who voted against my bill to expand and speed up the visa program to evacuate and save our Afghan partners."

Others also accused Boebert of hypocrisy. In the process, Boebert's past tweets resurfaced.

Boebert has repeatedly derided the Biden administration as incompetent. She earlier derided President Biden for spending time at Cape David instead of the White House.

According to Federal Election Commission records reviewed by MeidasTouch, singer Gloria Gaynor—best known for the 1978 hit “I Will Survive” that has long been embraced by the LGBTQ+ community—has donated thousands of dollars to Republicans in recent years, a decision that could explain why President Donald Trump recently named her as a Kennedy Center Honors recipient.

In 2023 and 2024 alone, Gaynor contributed nearly $22,000 to multiple conservative and MAGA-affiliated names and groups.
