Trump Claims General Called His Response To 'Grab 'Em' Tape Scandal The 'Bravest Thing I've Ever Seen'

The ex-President was instantly dragged on X, formerly Twitter, after claiming an unnamed 'general' who had seen soldiers die on the battlefield found his response to a question during a presidential debate about the 'Access Hollywood' tape scandal to be 'the bravest thing I've ever seen.'

An unnamed general allegedly provided Donald Trump with a flattering assessment of how he managed the aftermath of the controversial Access Hollywood tape release.

This is, at least, according to Trump's recollection of the events shared during a New York Young Republican Club gala on Saturday.

Keeping in mind Trump's track record of lying as easily as he breathes, he recounted a story involving an unnamed general who, per Trump's account, praised the former president for his courage following the revelation of his "grab 'em by the p*ssy" remarks just ahead of the 2016 election.

During the gala, Trump reminisced about the pressure to withdraw from the presidential race in the wake of the scandal.

However, he asserted that he resisted this suggestion and pointed to a pivotal moment in a presidential debate against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

He recalled stepping onto the debate stage a few days later, where a highly regarded but conveniently unnamed general allegedly commended him.

According to Trump, the general expressed admiration, stating:

"Sir, I’ve been on the battlefield, men have gone down on my left and on my right, I stood on hills where soldiers were killed..."
"...but I believe the bravest thing I’ve ever seen was the night you went onto that stage with Hillary Clinton after what happened, and then that woman asked you the first question about it, and [you] said ‘locker room talk.’”

Trump then reiterated his response to the general's praise, recalling that he dismissed the controversy as "locker room talk" during the debate, emphasizing:

"It’s locker room talk. What the hell? What are you talking about? Locker room talk."
